A method is provided for receiving a multicarrier signal in a receiver implementing at least two distinct reception channels. After receiving the multicarrier signal during a first step, and in order to optimize subsequent processing (such as synchronization, confidence computing, . . . ), information representing the reception quality is associated to each corresponding reception channel during a second step. An embodiment of the disclosure relies on a new way of computing this information, called absolute confidence, which takes account on the one hand of the reception quality of the considered channel compared to the other channels (total confidence) and on the other hand of the reception quality of each source data (carrier) compared to the others, in the considered channel (relative confidence), to determine an absolute confidence for each data of each channel.

Method for diversity reception of a multicarrier signal, receiver and corresponding system

The invention relates to a reception device implementing at least two reception paths supplied with data flows, each conveying the same source symbols, each of said paths comprising estimation means, associating, with each source symbol received, an estimated path value and a corresponding path confidence information element, and comprising means for the combination of said estimated path values into an adapted estimated value, said combination taking account of said path confidence information elements to weight said estimated path values. Said estimation means advantageously comprises means for the estimation of the transmission channel, delivering said path confidence information elements. Said combination means may advantageously associate an adapted confidence information element with each of said adapted estimated values, as a function of said path confidence information elements.

Device and method for receiving with at least two reception channels, and corresponding use

The invention relates to a signal intended to be transmitted towards a plurality of receivers, of the type comprising at least two source signals and consisting of a plurality of independently modulated substantially orthogonal carrier frequencies distributed over a predetermined frequency band. According to the invention, the frequency band is divided into at least two frequency sub-bands each comprising a set of the substantially orthogonal carrier frequencies, and to each of the sub-bands is allocated one of the source signals, so that a receiver may retrieve from the transmitted signal, by filtration, at least one of the sub-bands and perform demodulation processing only on the carrier frequencies contained in the retrieved sub-bands. The invention also relates to a transmission process as well as to a receiver of such signal.

OFDM signal organized so as to simplify reception

A method for estimating an interference phase shift when receiving a multicarrier signal formed of a time series of symbols modulating a plurality of carrier frequencies, at least some of the carrier frequencies of at least some of the symbols bearing reference elements, whereof the value at transmission level is known by the receiver carrying out the reception. The phase variation &dgr; between at least two symbols bearing reference elements is estimated by analysing the reference elements. Each of the reference elements in the estimation is weighted by information representing the noise affecting the carrier frequency bearing the reference element.

Process for estimating a parasite phase shift during reception of a multi-carrier signal and the corresponding receiver

The invention relates to a signal intended to be transmitted towards a plurality of receivers, of the type comprising at least two source signals and consisting of a plurality of independently modulated substantially orthogonal carrier frequencies distributed over a predetermined frequency band.
