A binding is provided which includes first and second distinct jaws which are rotatable about respective distinct axes of the body of a binding. The jaws are both biased by a common spring via one or more transverse arms having ends which abut the front portions of the respective jaws. Rotation of one of the jaws, and subsequent release of a boot retained thereby, effects compression of the spring and reduces the release threshold of the other jaw, thereby minimizing injury to a skier.

Coupled safety bindings adapted for use with monoski

A binding for retaining a boot on a ski. The binding is provided with a jaw for retaining one end of a boot against the ski, and a support on which the jaw is mounted. The support itself is connected to two arms mounted on the ski. These two arms are separated by a distance less than the width of a sole of the boot which the binding retains on the ski.

Safety binding

A safety binding for securing two boots on a monoski. The binding includes a forward retention device adapted to retain the front of each boot from release upwardly from and laterally exteriorly of the monoski, and to free each boot front at least laterally when an excessive force is exerted by one of the boots on the forward retention device. The binding further includes a transverse linkage apparatus for linking the boots. This transverse linkage apparatus includes a central projecting wedge having a width substantially equal to the interior spacing of the soles of the boots in the position where the boots are inserted on the monoski. Each boot is retained at the level of its front end along a transverse direction towards the exterior of the monoski by the first retention device and towards the interior by the central wedge. The central wedge transmits to the other boot front interiorly directed transverse forces.

Monoski binding arrangement

Adaptor element for a monoski safety binding comprising means for simultaneously releasing two ski boots from a binding system. The adaptor element may be used in conjunction with a binding system, as well as a brake assembly.

Safety binding apparatus for monoskis

A template and a method for boring orifices in a monoski. The orifices are adapted to receive two bindings. The template includes a base plate supporting boring barrels and two lateral abutments displaceable between two substantially symmetrical positions with respect to the longitudinal vertical and median plane of the base plate. The template also includes an apparatus for pinching the monoski over its thickness. The method includes the steps of positioning the template at a first position on one side of the longitudinal median axis of the monoski, abuting a support surface of the lateral abutments against one lateral side of the ski, drilling holes in the ski at the point at which the boring barrels contact the ski, linearly displacing the template to a second position on the other side of and symmetrical to the longitudinal median axis of the ski, displacing the lateral abutments to a position on the other side of and symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal vertical and median plane of the base plate, abuting the support surfaces of the abutments against the other lateral side of the ski, and drilling holes in the ski at the point of contact between the boring barrels and the ski.
