A composition of matter consisting essentially of a polar fuel, a particue gelling agent and a mixture of two polyfunctional alcohols, one having an ether linkage and the other having no ether linkage. The composition is useful as a fuel for a fuel air explosive device.

Gelled FAE fuel

1, 2-Butylene oxide as a fuel for a fuel air explosive weapon. The oxide be used either as a pure liquid or gelled with a gelling agent such as silicon dioxide, particulate carbon or aluminum octoate.

Gelled fuel-air explosive method

A device for monitoring for the presence of ethylene oxide gas comprising indicator which undergoes color change in the presence of ethylene oxide and a scrubber system to keep the device from being too sensitive. The scrubber system preferably employs activated charcoal coated with silicotungstic acid as the scrubber material.

Device for reducing the sensitivity of an ethylene oxide leak detector

Solid ramjet fuels made up of mixture comprising hydroxy terminated polybdiene or the like in combination with other hereinafter specified hydrocarbons are disclosed. When combusted, in the presence of air, the fuels of this invention exhibit combustion efficiencies similar to that of hydroxy terminated polybutadiene alone.
