An elastomer rope is disclosed which is useful among other things for clamping goods to the platform of a load carrying vehicle and for mooring boats, floating landing stages, buoys, navigation marks and the like. A mooring device is also shown for anchoring floating landing stages, buoys, navigation marks and the like. The elastomer rope has the property of becoming progressively ever stiffer at increasing elongation and consists of a core of an elastomeric material, a reinforcement wound helically about the core and consisting of a material considerably less elongatable than the elastomeric material of the core, and an outer covering layer of elastomeric material. The progressivity is attained in that the reinforcement is helically wound about the core at a reinforcement angle of 50.degree.-65.degree. between the longitudinal axis of the core and the reinforcement projected at right angles thereto. The mooring device has a floating body connected to a bottom fastening with the aid of an elastic element which is under tensile prestress. The floating body is rigidly connected to a rigid tubular arm which extends downwards from the floating body. The elastic element extends from below into the tubular arm and is fixed to the upper end thereof. The elastic element is such as to become progressively ever more rigid at increasing elongation and consists of an elastomer rope of the above design.

Rope and a mooring device, particularly for clamping goods mooring ships

A mill lining is disclosed, intended for e.g. a primary or autogenous mill in the mining industry. The lining comprises shell plates and lifter bars made from elastomer material and mounted in a mill drum. The lifter bars extend substantially in the axial direction of the mill drum and project into the mill drum beyond the inner surface of the shell plates. At least some of the lifter bars, preferably every second, are designed to act as elastomer springs by having a longitudinal recess or slot in their impact front side facing forwardly in the contemplated direction of rotation of the mill drum. The recess or slot is inside the inner surface of the shell plates and serves as a strain concentrator concentrating the tensile strain of the lifter bars to an area relatively unexposed to sliding abrasion of the material being ground.

Mill lining

Apparatus for mooring boats and being of the type which fixedly secures one end of the boat while simultaneously preventing pivoting of the boat about said one end in response to wind and wave forces acting on the boat. A fixed support platform is provided which includes a pair of spaced support elements, and at least one stretchable elastic member is supported between the spaced support elements. In the mooring of the boat, one end of the boat is positioned against the elastic members, and thereafter a plurality of lines are attached to opposite sides of the boat at points located remotely from said one end of the boat. The latter lines are placed in tension and are so orientated relevant to the boat that force components are provided which act parallel to the longitudinal axis of the boat and resiliently urge the boat against the elastic members so as to distend the member and provide a recess therein for embracing and fixedly securing said one end of the boat. Simultaneously, the tensioned lines provide force components acting transversely of the longitudinal axis of the boat to prevent pivoting of the boat about its first end.
