In a fuel system of an internal combustion engine, a low-pressure delivery unit for the fuel, at least indirectly delivers fuel to at least one low-pressure injection device. The fuel system further provides a high-pressure delivery unit, which has a drive region and a delivery region and at least indirectly delivers fuel to at least one high-pressure injection device. According to the invention, the fuel is first delivered by the low-pressure delivery unit to the drive region of the high-pressure delivery unit and from there onward to the low-pressure injection device and/or to the delivery region of the high-pressure delivery unit.

Fuel system for an internal combustion engine

A high pressure fuel pump encompasses at least one delivery chamber and one high pressure outlet. in addition, a pressure limiting valve with a valve that is actuated by a pressure differential is provided that can open from the high pressure outlet to the delivery chamber. On a high pressure side of a valve seat of the pressure limiting valve, it is advantageous that a throttle device is provided, whose free cross section is at most approximately equal to a desired maximum opening cross section of the pressure limiting valve.

A hydraulic control valve comprises a housing having a slider opening and at least two pressure medium chambers, a control member which is longitudinally movable in the opening so as to at least control a communication between the two pressure medium chambers, the control member having two opposite ends, a rotation preventing element provided on one of the ends of the control member, a coupling part which is arranged on the control member non-rotatably and longitudinally displaceably relative to the latter, and a structural member which is arranged radially to the control member so as to guide the coupling part longitudinally displaceably and non-rotatable relative to the housing.

A pressure and delivery regulating device for an adjustable pump includes a directional control valve connected in a discharge conduit and to a control conduit branching from the discharge conduit between the pump and the directional control valve. The control conduit leads to a setting piston for the adjustment of the pump. The directional control valve is controlled by a solenoid which in turn is controlled by a control system consisting of a regulating circuit, a delivery limiting circuit and a control circuit for the solenoid. The output signal from the regulating circuit controls a desired delivery value signal supplied to the delivery limiting circuit. A follow-up circuit connected between the regulating circuit and the delivery limiting circuit corrects the regulating signal and a circuit for producing a direction dependent signal from the actual pressure provides a damping of the regulating circuit.

Device for regulating pressure and delivery of and adjustable pump

A magnetic linear drive includes an elongated cylindrical armature which is supported for axial displacement in a guiding pipe made of a pressure-resistant material. Two axially spaced solenoid windings are mounted on the guiding pipe and are interconnected by a permanent magnet. The solenoid windings are provided with lateral magnetically conducting cores the ends of which communicate with annular grooves formed in the guiding tube. The grooves are filled with a magnetically conductive material forming the poles of the electromagnet. In the region of the poles, the armature is formed with control flanges of different depths which are acted upon by the magnetic flux to impart the axial movement to the armature. One end of the armature is formed with a measuring flange which cooperates with measuring coils mounted on the guiding pipe.
