A brush head for an electrically driven toothbrush is provided herein. The brush head includes a holding part connected to a carrier part, at least one bristle bundle formed by bristle filaments, and a resiliently soft cleaning element. The carrier part includes passage bores, through which the bristle bundle and resiliently soft cleaning element project, and each is fixed to the carrier part by way of a thickened portion formed by a filament material or a resiliently elastic material, respectively. A method of producing a brush head is also provided, including preparing the carrier part as a separate component with passage bores, fixing the bristle bundle and the resiliently clastic cleaning element to the carrier part with a thickened portion provided on the bristle bundle and the resiliently elastic cleaning element, respectively, and connecting the carrier part to the holding part.

Brush head, in particular for an electrically driven toothbrush, and method for the production thereof

A toothbrush is provided including: a handle; a head attached to the handle; a plurality of tooth cleaning elements projecting outwardly from a first surface of the head; and a cleanser including at least one projection protruding outwardly from a second surface for removal of microbial and other debris from soft tissue in the mouth, which second surface is arranged opposite to the first surface; wherein the at least one projection is made of a hard component; wherein the second surface is an elastomeric second surface.

Oral care implement

A process for making a toothbrush head comprising widthways adjacent sections, the process comprising the stages of first making the head in an injection moulding process with the sections relatively spaced apart from each other in a widthways direction, then secondly moving the sections of the so formed head relatively spaced closer to each other in a widthways direction. An apparatus for performing the process is also disclosed.

Process for making toothbrushes

A dental cleaning implement such as a toothbrush, having longitudinally disposed first and second parts flexibly joined together. Between the first and second parts is a rotatable member such that when the implement bends the first parts adjacent to the member bear upon the member. The rotatable member has circumferentially disposed relatively softer and harder regions, so that as the member is rotated the parts can be caused to bear compressibly upon selected softer or harder regions.

A toothbrush having a head which carries a dental cleaning tool, and a grip handle, the head and handle being disposed along a longitudinal head-handle axis, the toothbrush having a resiliently flexible structure which can resiliently bend under the action of toothbrushing pressure and having adjustment means comprising a longitudinally moveable stiffening member which can be moved longitudinally into greater or lesser engagement with the resiliently flexible structure.

The present invention relates to a method of producing thick-walled brushes, in particular toothbrushes, with a grip piece and a brush head supporting bristle filaments. In order to increase the productivity, the method mentioned at the start is further developed by the present invention in that a core produced in a first injection molding cycle is coated with a plastic component in at least one subsequent injection molding cycle so as to form a multi-layered grip piece.

Method of producing thick-walled brushes, in particular toothbrushes

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a brush head comprising a brush head body carrying bristle bundles, in particular for tooth brushes, by way of injection molding, in which a first plastic component is injected into a first mold cavity for forming a bristle carrier, and ends of bristle filaments projecting into the first mold cavity are encompassed by the first plastic component. In order to guarantee a complete filling of the mold and a favorable reproduction of the mold cavity geometry, but to avoid at the same time a penetration of plastic mass into ducts in which the bristle filaments are held, it is suggested by the present invention that the bristle carrier manufactured during the first step is relocated into another mold cavity, which is larger than the bristle carrier, and which is filled with a hard component. The present invention further relates to a brush head, in particular for a tooth brush, comprising at least one brush head body carrying a bristle bundle in which the fixing-sided ends of bristle filaments are embedded by an over-molding, wherein it is suggested according to the invention in order to provide a brush head complying with the above-mentioned demands, that the brush body comprises a bristle carrier encompassing the bristle filaments on the attachment side, the bristle carrier being embedded into a hard component.

Method of manufacturing a brush head by way of an injection molding process

A method of manufacturing a tooth brush having a bristle area formed of several folded bristle bundles of plastic bristles, the method including separating, with an anchor, the bristle bundles from a bristle package, folding the bristle bundles and pressing them into dead end holes, which are formed in the bristle area of the toothbrush, with the anchor, with effecting rounding off of the ends of the bristles of the bristle bundles prior to the bristle bundles being folded and anchored in the dead end holes of the tooth brush bristle area.

Method for the manufacture of a toothbrush

The method of manufacturing brushes, in particular, tooth brushes, includes injection molding of the brush body, together with the brush head having a plurality of openings for receiving bristle bundles and a recess defining a back surface of the brush head, inserting into the opening finished bristle bundles and fusing the ends of the bristle bundles projecting from the back surface of the brush head, and filling thereafter the brush head recess with a plastic material.

A method for configuring the use ends of the bristles of at least one bristle bundle in the fabrication of bristle products, including cutting the bristle bundle to a predetermined dimension and inserting it into the channel in a carrier, and bringing the use ends into a contact with a surface of a configuration plate having a configuration corresponding to the configuration of the use ends of the bristles of the bristle bundle, under gas pressure acting on bristle ends which are opposite to use ends.

Method of configuring bristle bundles

A toothbrush formed of a handle, a neck and a bristle head. In order to allow the bristle head to move out of the way in the event of excessive brushing pressure being applied during toothbrushing, an elastic segment is provided between the handle and the bristle head. Injury to the gums, damage to the teeth and possibly to the tooth-holding means can be averted by the elastic flexure of the bristle head. The elastic segment is formed by one or more clearances, slots or slits at least partially filled with elastic polymeric/copolymeric plastic material.
