The present invention relates to a urea group containing product comprising one or more species of formula (I) R&#x2014;X&#x2014;(C&#x2550;O)&#x2014;[NH&#x2014;R&#x2014;NH&#x2014;(C&#x2550;O)&#x2014;NH&#x2014;R&#x2014;NH&#x2014;(C&#x2550;O)]&#x2014;NH&#x2014;R&#x2014;NH&#x2014;(C&#x2550;O)&#x2014;X&#x2014;R(I), 5 wherein Ris independently selected from organic groups having (4) to (200) carbon atoms, X is O or NR, wherein Ris a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic or aromatic group having (1) to (30) carbon atoms, Ris independently selected from hydrocarbyl groups having (4) to (40) carbon atoms, Ris independently selected from hydrocarbyl groups having (2) to (40) carbon atoms, and wherein on average (76) to (100) mol % of all Rgroups contained in the one or more species of formula (I) are hydrocarbyl groups having (2) or (3) carbon atoms, and n is an integer of (2) to (150). The invention further relates to a method of manufacturing such urea group containing products, liquid compositions containing the same and the use of such liquid compositions as rheology control additives. Furthermore, the invention relates to a process for rheology adjustment adding such liquid composition to semi-finished or final products. The invention also relates to an article coated with the liquid composition.

Urea group containing anti-sagging rheology control agents

The invention relates to urea- and/or urethane-substituted amides of the general formula (I) The radicals R1, Z1, R2, and Z2 comprise a building block containing urea groups and/or containing urethane groups; the radicals R4, Z4, R5, and Z5 comprise a building block containing amide groups, and E is a carboxylic acid group or salt thereof. The invention also relates to rheology control agents which consist of or comprise the amides of the formula (I). A further subject of the invention is a method for producing the rheology control agents, and the use of the urea- and/or urethane-substituted amides, and also of the rheology control agents, as thickeners, especially in liquid compositions, and also the liquid compositions themselves.

Urea-group- and/or urethane-group-containing amides as and in rheology control agents, their preparation and their use

The invention relates to a urea preparation containing (A) 5 to 75 wt. % of one or more urea components which have a molecular weight of at least 350 g/mol and contain at least one urea group; (B) 15 to 95 wt. %, preferably 30 to 80 wt. %, of one or more organic solvents from the group of N alkyl amides that have a molecular weight of 155 to 700 g/mol, are free of urea groups, and have the following formula (I), in which (a) Ris an x-containing hydrocarbon group, where x=1 to 24 carbon atoms, Ris a y-containing organic group, where y=1 to 12 carbon atoms, and Ris a z-containing organic group, where z=1 to 12 carbon atoms, or (b) R, R, and Rare defined as in (a) but Rand Rare connected to each other by a chemical bond and together form a ring with 4 to 10 ring atoms while incorporating the group C(&#x2550;O)N, and in the case of a ring with 4 or 5 ring atoms, Rcontains at least 6 carbon atoms and maximally 11 carbon atoms, or (c) R, R, and Rare defined as in (a) but Rand Rare connected to each other by a chemical bond and together form a ring with 4 to 10 ring atoms while incorporating the nitrogen atom of the general formula (I) with the proviso that for each of (a), (b), and (c), x+y+z&#x2267;8; (C) 0 to 35 wt. % of one or more organic solvents which differ from (B) and do not contain urea groups or ionic groups and which have maximally two heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of nitrogen and oxygen; and (D) 0 to 50 wt. % of a salt which differs from the urea component(s) (A), the solvent(s) (B), and the solvent(s) (C), wherein the sum of all of the stated weight percentages equals the total weight of the urea preparation. The invention further relates to the use of the urea preparation as a rheology additive for liquid compositions and to liquid media which contain the urea preparations.

Storage-stable urea preparations which are suitable as rheology control agents

The invention relates to polyureas having a weight-average molecular weight ranging from 5,000 to 70,000 g/mol, the preparation thereof, and the use thereof as rheology control agents. The invention further relates to rheology control agents containing polyureas and to the use thereof. The invention moreover relates to formulations containing polyureas.
