A device for hydraulic adjustment of rollers of strand guiding segments of a strand casting device has hydraulic cylinders which are separated by a piston with piston rod into a cylinder chamber and an annular cylinder chamber, respectively. The cylinder chambers can be connected by control members alternatingly and in opposite directions as well as simultaneously with a pressure source and a pressure sink, wherein on-off valves are provided as control members.

A descaling device for slabs or strips in hot rolling mills includes nozzles fed by a pressurized water piston pump for directing water jets against the slab or strip for removing scale adhering to the surface of the slab or strip. At least one additional pressurized water piston pump is provided, wherein the piston pumps are connected in parallel and the pumps can be switched on and off separately. A second row of nozzles may be arranged in front of the nozzles at a distance which ensures that the water jets do not influence each other. The water pressure of the water supplied to the second row of nozzles is preferably lower than the water pressure supplied to the first row of nozzles.

Descaling device and method

A hydrostatic transmission with a closed hydraulic circuit includes a consumer which is connected through work lines to a reversible hydraulic pump and is pressurized on both sides by an external pressure source. The hydraulic circuit includes a first continuous rinsing and feeding circuit which depends on the leakage flow of the hydraulic pump and possibly a second discontinuous rinsing circuit separate from the first circuit and connected to the external pressure source. The hydrostatic transmission further includes an adjustable regulating device which determines through a valve the adjustment of the hydraulic pump. The regulating device, which may be arranged outside of the immediate vicinity of the hydrostatic transmission, interacts with a control device which is directly assigned to the hydrostatic transmission and includes a valve constructed as a servo valve, wherein, for adjusting the arrangement, the servo valve can be switched to manual control. A manually operable lock valve is provided between the servo valve and the hydraulic pump adjustment. The throttles used for pressurization are adjustable as well as lockable and the work lines are equipped with pick-ups for the actual pressure value.

Hydrostatic transmission

Hydraulic feed drives for pressing tools of a flying upsetting press are integrated into closed hydraulic circuits and are driven by displacement pumps, with the hydraulic circuits being pressurized in order to improve the flow dynamics, and with internal regulation circuits and superimposed regulations circuits of the individual control components being provided for improving the regulation accuracy.

One or more positioning devices in the form of pneumatic-hydraulic cylinders can be connected to one or more carriers for pressing rollers and/or guide plates of a strip coiler. At least one of the pneumatic-hydraulic positioning devices is suspended from the top and has a hydraulic piston emerging from a hydraulic cylinder at its lower end for connection by a linkage of a respective carrier while the upper end of the hydraulic cylinder forms the piston in the pneumatic cylinder.

Strip-guide assembly for a metal strip coiler

A strip-guide assembly for a metal-strip coiler comprises a pressing roll or guide plate adapted to urge the strip into a coiled condition on a mandrel is provided with a four-pivot linkage actuated by a pneumatic/hydraulic positioning device. According to the invention, the latter device comprises a limited stroke pneumatic cylinder having a plunger portion which forms a cylinder for the hydraulically displaced piston whose rod is connected to the linkage, the pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders being independently pressurizable.
