A device for driving mechanical safety systems. The device contains a housing in which at least one moving piston is arranged. The piston is connected to a first toothed rack and the first toothed rack is operatively connected to a pinion. A second toothed rack is arranged for movement in the housing. As a result, the second toothed rack is displaced in the opposite direction to the movement of the piston. The device has a locking lever and a shift claw. The shift claw is mounted on the second toothed rack and is arranged such that, on movement of the second toothed rack, the shift claw can actuate the locking lever. A locking bush secures the securing shaft to be driven. The locking bush is initially transferred to an unlocked position on movement of the toothed racks and is returned to a locked position on conclusion of the movement.

A recoil brake for braking recoiling masses of a barreled firearm, comprising a hollow cylinder, which has an interior filled with a fluid and having a high-pressure side and a low-pressure side, a control rod arranged in the hollow cylinder, which has an end connected to the hollow cylinder, a piston rod surrounding the control rod, which is arranged within the hollow cylinder for movement in an axial direction of the hollow cylinder, a piston being formed on the piston rod, which is arranged for displacement in the axial direction and which fluidically separates the high-pressure side from the low-pressure side. A distance by which the piston is displaceable in the axial direction is at least as great as the recoil distance of the recoiling masses during a passage of a bullet through the barreled firearm.

The invention relates to a gun barrel mounting for a gun barrel, comprising a cradle with at least one gun mounting for mounting the gun barrel and a base part that can be connected to the gun barrel.

Gun barrel mounting and gun

The installation space dimensions of a weapon system in the tower are complied with, and a loading space diameter of a caliber-larger weapon barrel is approximately maintained in relation to the smaller caliber. The required larger loading space volume for the caliber increase is predominantly achieved by an extension of the loading space of the caliber-larger weapon barrel relative to a loading space of the caliber-smaller weapon barrel itself. Since the loading space diameter of a larger caliber remains virtually unchanged, the outer dimensions of the caliber-larger weapon barrel also remain virtually unchanged compared to the outer dimensions of the caliber-smaller weapon barrel in the region of the loading part.

Combat vehicle having a weapon system

A mortar includes at least one barrel mounted movably over a ball journal in a bottom supporting device, and an aiming device serving to aim the barrel vertically and horizontally. In order to be able to aim the barrel of the mortar automatically in a simple and cost advantageous manner, the aiming device preferably comprises a carriage that can be moved along guideways essentially horizontally towards or away from the barrel. At the carriage, the first end region of a pivoted arm is mounted so that it can be rotated about a pivot axis, and the second end region of the pivoted arm is connected with a spherical plain bearing, guiding the barrel. The spherical plain bearing embraces a housing part, which is open at its end faces and in which an inner part is mounted spherically (rotatably), which contains a cylindrical barrel guide, for movably accommodating the barrel.

Mortar

A drive for a weapon is provided, wherein rotational motion of a motor is converted to a forward or reverse motion of the breech in a simple manner using the Scotch yoke principle. In order to allow rest periods of the breech in the end positions, the crank radius is defined by a control cam, which changes when the crank is rotated. The hinge pin of the crank may be externally driven via a pinion shaft. A yoke pin is arranged in a groove of the crank so as to be radially displaceable and carries the breech carrier or the breech in a groove extending transversely to the direction of fire via a sliding block. Two rollers are arranged on the crank pin and run in control cams in the weapon or crank housing. The control cam is subdivided into different sectors/sections, thereby achieving the desired motion of the breech.

Breech drive for a weapon

A mechanism or drive () for a weapon is described, which is characterized by only a limited acceleration of the breech () and a jerk- and recoil-free operation, thereby reducing the inertia force and the required power and increasing the repetition rate. The reduction of the required power also results in a reduction of braking power in the case of a quick stop. For this purpose, the rotational motion of preferably a motor () or the like is converted to a forward or reverse motion of the breech () using the Scotch yoke principle. In order to allow rest periods of the breech in the end limit positions, the rod () and the yoke () are arranged radially and displaceable relative to each other so that the yoke radius changes when the yoke () is rotated. A control cam () radially guides the rod ().

Breech drive for a weapon with a linear breech or ammunition feed

A drive, having a quick stop mechanism, for a breech is axially adjustable relative to a weapon barrel, and includes a motor, two counter-rotating chains and sprocket wheels that guide the chains. Engaging cams and control cams are integrated into the chains. A slide mounted at the bottom of the breech is displaceable transversely to the direction of fire and has a groove that the engaging cams engage to entrain the breech in a forward or reverse motion relative to the direction of fire. The engaging cam transporting the breech forwards is displaced from the groove while the control cam displaces the slide simultaneously to its center position via its ascent ramp, thereby allowing breech rest periods in the forward limit position. Firing causes the slide to move from the center position to the left hand side whereas it remains in the center position when no shot is fired.

Drive and quick stop for a weapon with preferably a linear breech or ammunition feed

A drive for a breech/breech carrier renders it axially adjustable relative to a weapon barrel. The drive includes a motor, two engaging cams mounted on a chain arranged below the breech and guided around two sprocket wheels. A slide is mounted in a guide at the bottom of the breech/breech carrier so as to move at a right angle to the direction of fire, with a groove extending over its entire width. The respective engaging cam entrains the breech in forward motion relative to the direction of fire, or in reverse motion, once the shot is fired, and transports the breech forwards, is displaced from the groove, and moves backwards without the breech, thereby allowing breech rest periods in a forward position. During firing, the slide moves, whereas it remains stationary when no shot is fired so no further engaging cam can entrain the breech backwards.

Drive and quick stop for a weapon with preferably linear breech or ammunition feed

An apparatus for the section-wise autofrettage of gun barrels () by a hydraulic pressure generated inside the barrel. The apparatus (&#x2033;) comprises a mandrel-shaped insert (&#x2033;) inserted into the barrel () from the breech opening. A first sealing device () is disposed at one end of the insert (&#x2033;), and has a seal packet () disposed on a seal seat () of the insert (&#x2033;). The seal seat () is limited at the front by a threaded sleeve () screwed onto the insert (&#x2033;), and an annular intermediate part () adjoining the threaded sleeve () at the rear. The seal packet () includes at least one O-ring () held by a shoulder () of the mandrel-shaped insert (&#x2033;), and a high-pressure seal () formed by two partial rings () that are connected to one another by a conical contact surface ().

Apparatus for the section-wise autofrettage of gun barrels

A gun in which the gun barrel () is seated to be axially displaced in a cradle barrel. To avoid a lifting effect of the gun barrel () upon firing, and omit the necessity of complicated guide grooves in the cradle barrel () and tabs on the gun barrel (), an elastically deformable, first slide-bushing bearing () is provided at the muzzle end of the cradle barrel, and a second slide-bushing bearing () with a predetermined amount of fit play is provided at the breech-ring end of the cradle barrel. The barrel bushing () of the first slide-bushing bearing () has segment-like, outside recesses () between adjacent support ribs () on its outer surface, and segment-like, inside recesses () on its inner wall () opposite the support ribs (), so that when the gun barrel () expands, the barrel bushing () deforms elastically such that regions of the barrel bushing () resting against the gun barrel () are arched outward into the outside recesses (), and the regions of the barrel () that do not rest against the inner wall () can move into the inner recesses () of the barrel bushing ().

A gun whose barrel ( &prime;) is connected to a breech ring ( ), and is seated to be displaced in a cradle barrel ( ). To prevent a lifting effect of the barrel ( &prime;) inside the cradle barrel ( ) upon firing, a slide-bushing bearing is disposed on at least the muzzle side of the barrel ( &prime;). The bearing encompasses a barrel bushing ( &prime;), in which the barrel ( &prime;) is disposed free from any lifting effect, and whose outside surface ( ) slides in a form-fit (i.e., with the smallest possible amount of play) in the cradle barrel ( ), so that the barrel ( &prime;) is independently guided to slide both axially and radially. The radial sliding guidance of the barrel ( &prime;) during firing is effected by tab-shaped protrusions ( &prime;), which extend into corresponding, groove-shaped recesses ( &prime;) of the barrel bushing ( &prime;) and hold the barrel ( &prime;) in the center of the barrel bushing ( &prime;).

A holder assembly for supporting a collimator of a field adjusting device on a weapon barrel includes a holder sled having a dovetail guide provided in the underface of the sled. The dovetail guide has lateral guide faces converging toward one another. A first groove is provided in the underface of the sled and extends transversely to the length of the dovetail guide. A dovetail receiver block is affixed to the weapon barrel in the muzzle region. The dovetail receiver block has lateral guide faces converging toward one another. A second groove, located on the weapon barrel, extends transversely to the barrel axis. The holder sled is removably mountable on the weapon barrel by sliding the dovetail guide onto the dovetail receiver block in a direction parallel to the barrel axis until an installed state of the holder sled is reached. In the installed state the lateral guide faces of the dovetail guide and the lateral guide faces of the dovetail receiver block are in a wedging relationship and the first and second grooves are in alignment with one another. Further, a wedge block is provided which is insertable into the first and second grooves in the installed state for axially immobilizing the holder sled on the weapon barrel.
