According to a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a method of operating a distributed database comprising a plurality of database nodes each storing a plurality of data objects. The method comprises, when executing a database transaction that requires data operations be performed on a plurality of data objects that are distributed between two or more of the database nodes, grouping the data objects that are involved in the database transaction at one of the plurality of database nodes.

Methods and apparatus for implementing a distributed database

Method and system for accessing subscriber data in a telecommunication system, and providing a database system with a master database and slave databases acting as memory caches located with requester applications. The method including: configuring data clusters at the master database, each data cluster identifying subscriber data associated with an operation and assigned a priority; determining at the master database the priority of the data cluster associated with a received operation; and either providing the data cluster associated with the operation from the master database towards the slave database, replicating the received data cluster at the slave database, and executing the operation with the received data cluster at the slave database, where the priority of the data cluster is higher than for previous operations; or executing the operation with the data cluster at the master database, where the priority of the data cluster is lower than for a previous operation.

Database system with multiple layer distribution

A method of handling IP Multimedia Public Identity registration within an IP Multimedia Subsystem network. The method comprises receiving at a Call Session Control Function a SIP REGISTER message including a completed IP Multimedia Public Identity Attribute-Value-Pair and no IP Multimedia Private Identity. The method further comprises deriving at the Call Session Control Function an IP Multimedia Private Identity using the IP Multimedia Public Identity and sending a Cx query from the Call Session Control Function to a Home Subscriber Server, the query including the IP Multimedia Public Identity and the derived IP Multimedia Private Identity. The Home Subscriber Server identifies a subsubscription using the IP Multimedia Public Identity, and determines that the derived IP Multimedia Private Identity is not associated with said subscription. The HSS the identifies a default IP Multimedia Private Identity associated with subscription associated with said subscription, and returns a Cx response to said Call Session Control Function including said default IP Multimedia Private Identity. The Call Session Control Function uses the received, default IP Multimedia Private Identity to further handle said SIP message.

IP multimedia subsystem user identity handling

A home subscriber server (HSS) and method are described herein for supporting an emergency telecommunication service (e.g., Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS)). In one embodiment, the HSS and the method are adapted to selectively provide telecommunication access to subscribers of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) by associating different user priority values with different network condition statuses, where a network condition status may be a congestion level or a disaster relief emergency status.

Support in HSS for emergency telecommunication services

A single IMPI is determined, allowing the progress of a terminating call that addresses a given IMPU shared by more than one IMPI of an IMS subscription. A number of policies are applied per IMPI basis on how to progress the terminating call. A HSS is provided where the policies are configured and, a method is disclosed including IMPU with a number of policies. Additionally, the method may also include a step of configuring at the HSS the more than one IMPI with a priority indication usable to set the order in which the more than one IMPI are checked to determine at least one for which the policies allow to progress the terminating call.

Handling of terminating calls for a shared public user identity in an IP multimedia subsystem

The present invention faces the issue of exercising a parental control over children's activities in the IMS network, in terms of registering into the IMS network as well as in terms of call establishment, and provides for a new IMS subscription model supporting a hierarchy of IMPI's, so-called 'primary' IMPI's and so-called 'secondary' IMPI's, whereby only the primary IMPI's are allowed to register themselves, whereas the secondary IMPI's can only register themselves after having been previously registered by a primary IMPI. To this end, the present invention provides for a new method and an enhanced HSS to allow the implicit registration of one or more &#x2018;secondary&#x2019; IMPI's upon the explicit registration of an IMS subscriber with a given IMPI/IMPU pair, wherein the given IMPI is a &#x2018;primary&#x2019; IMPI and the given IMPU is associated with a registration set of IMPI's which includes said one or more &#x2018;secondary&#x2019; IMPI's.

Method, apparatuses and computer program for parental control over children's activities in an IMS network

A method and apparatus for providing location information to a CSCF in an IMS network. An S-CSCF registers a first contact associated with an IMPU, and receives location information associated with the first contact. A second contact associated with the same IMPU, and also with a mobile access, is then registered at the S-CSCF. The S-CSCF receives location information associated with the second contact.

Providing location information in an IP multimedia subsystem network

A method and a HSS server allow the implicit registration of more than one IMS Private User Identity (IMPI), or the implicit registration of more than one contact address, or both, upon explicit registration of a subscriber with a given IMPI/IMPU (IMS Public User identity) pair and a given contact address. In particular, the method includes configuring subscriber data for the subscriber at the HSS with at least one implicit registration set selected from: a set of IMPIs associated with a given IMPI or with a given IMPU, and a set of contact addresses per IMPI basis; downloading from the HSS towards the S-CSCF the implicit registration set; and building up a corresponding data model therein.
