An imaging device () for a printing form (), in particular in a printing unit () of a printing press (), having at least one light source () and an imaging optics () for projecting the at least one light source () onto the printing form (), at least one optical element (), in particular a lens, of the imaging optics (), being movable by way of an actuator element (), and the imaging optics () including one sensor () for measuring the actual position of the optical element (), the sensor having one coil () and at least one sensor target (). The sensor () is assigned to a control element () for adjusting the position of the optical element () via the actuator element (), so that a highly precise, dynamic positioning of the optical element () can be achieved.

Imaging device for a printing press

A method is described of determining the distance () of a projection point () of a first imaging beam () of imaging device () from a measuring point () of a measuring device () or from a second projection point () of a second imaging beam () of a second imaging device () on the surface () of a printing form (), both the projection point () of the first imaging beam () and the measuring point () of the measuring device () or the second projection point () being movable in relation to the surface () of the printing form (). In the method, the reflected light intensity of at least a part of a pattern (), which is produced by the first imaging beam () on the printing form (), is measured as a function of the position of a measuring device (), so that the distance () may be formed as the difference of the position of the measuring device () and the correlated position of the imaging beam (), at which the imaging beam () was located when the part of the first pattern () was written. The method may advantageously be used in a method of correcting the time triggering of an imaging beam (), using which a projection point () may be produced on a surface () of a printing form ().

Method of determining the distance of projection points on the surface of a printing form

An apparatus for producing a printing form which, with little expenditure, permits exact beam alignment and positioning. The apparatus for producing the printing form contains a holder for at least one printing form blank, and at least one imaging module, which can be moved relative to the printing form blank and which contains at least one radiation source which, in order to produce image elements that accept printing ink, is aimed at the surface of the printing form blank and whose beam direction can be adjusted. The imaging module being accommodated in a six-point mounting in three bearing locations, each bearing location containing a spherical element and an associated bearing element and in each case the spherical element rests on it and, in order to adjust the beam direction, at least one element of one bearing location being disposed adjustably.

Apparatus for producing a printing form

A method of determining a relative position of first and second imaging devices includes setting an image of a group of mutually different reference patterns and a basic pattern on an imaging medium, with the second imaging device. Each reference pattern of the group is assigned uniquely to one relative position. An image of at least one test pattern is set over the basic pattern by the first imaging device, for forming a combination pattern. A reference pattern having an area coverage coinciding with an area coverage of the combination pattern is identified from the group of reference patterns. A relative position associated with the identified reference pattern of the group of reference patterns is then identified. A printing form exposer, a printing unit, a printing unit group and a printing press for performing the method are also provided.
