Systems and methods provide for queries with an arbitrary number of input streams to be created from a generic query template, during runtime, based on, for example, configuration parameters provided by the system or a user. The generic query templates include a generic query template string, query template segments, and an orchestration mechanism for automatic query template generation. The systems and methods of the present invention provide for the substitution of concrete input streams, counters (e.g., stream indices) and query template segments (which can include further placeholders) into the generic query templates. Further, the input placeholders of the generic query template provide for any part of the query template to be substituted with arbitrary logic. Also, the orchestration process is query language independent and can be applied (and extended) for any query language.

Generic query templates for complex event processing and data stream systems

Data streams are received for processing by a query. The query is associated with expected input data stream types and expected output data stream types. The received data streams are evaluated to determine if they correspond to the expected data stream types. If the received data stream types define data for a physical quantity that is defined in a unit of measure that is not the expected unit of measure, then unit conversion is required. Predefined mappings are utilized for performing required unit conversions and an optimal solution for conversion is determined. The unit conversions are performed automatically by unit conversion operators that are integrated within the process of generating of a runnable query. The runnable query is deployed and executed to generate result output streams that match the expected output stream type.

Automatic conversion of units of measure during data stream processing

Various embodiments of systems and methods to visualize measuring and dosing operations are described herein. In various embodiments, a computer user interface including a gauge bar, a progress bar, and a target value in combination with a weighing device may be used to measure and dose elements. In one embodiment the method ensures precise and fast dosing when weighing an element. In various embodiments, configuring a mapping function allows numerous combinations of a speed of progress of a progress bar when weighing an element. A progress bar, in combination with acceptable weight values, such as a target value, a primary minimum value, and a primary maximum value allows for color representation when a progress bar enters and exits acceptable weight values. Configuring a set or a plurality set of secondary minimum and maximum values is possible for additional acceptable weight values.

System and method to visualize measuring and dosing operations

A request handler may determine a query of a data stream management system (DSMS), wherein the query includes a plurality of operators being configured to execute the query collaboratively within the DSMS, and wherein stored stream-related data includes operator-associated windows of state data from the stream data, the request handler being further configured to determine a new query having new windows corresponding to the windows of the original query. A windows sorter may sort the new windows from longest duration to shortest duration to obtain a sorted new windows list. A migration estimator may calculate individual migration times for migrating state data from each window to its corresponding new window, beginning with the longest new window of the sorted new windows list. A migration aggregator may aggregate the individual migration times to obtain a total migration time for the new query.

Multi-state query migration in data stream management

A query may execute on stored original stream data obtained from stream data received from at least one data source. The original stream data may be deleted in association with new stream data being received. At least one operator of the query may be duplicated to obtain at least one duplicated operator, and the stored original stream data may be duplicated to obtain duplicated stream data. The at least one duplicated operator may be modified to obtain at least one modified operator and, thereby, a modified query. Original results may be determined based on execution of the at least one operator, and modified results may be determined based on execution of the at least one modified operator. The at least one operator and the original stream data may be replaced with the at least one duplicated operator and the duplicated stream data, to thereby obtain an integrated query for execution.

Runtime query modification in data stream management

In some implementations, a method includes changing a master business object that is resident at a first location on a network, generating a change message for changing a replicated business object, the replicated business object being based on the master business object and being resident at a second location on the network remote from the first location, determining an update duration for updating the replicated business object, incorporating the change routine into a synchronization message when the update duration is less than a temporal constraint, and transmitting the synchronization message from the first location to the second location to update the replicated business object based on the synchronization message.
