A backwashable filtering device comprising a housing, a main filter in the housing, an inlet for receiving liquid into the housing and an outlet for discharging liquid from the housing. A rotatably mounted spraying member is disposed in the main filter which is preferably cylindrical in shape for receiving liquid and discharging it against the inner surface of the filter to backwash and cleanse the filter. Filtering passage is defined in the housing between the inlet and the outlet for directing water against an outer surface of the main filter for the purpose of filtering the water. Valves are provided in the housing associated with the main filter for selectively directing liquid toward the opposite sides of the main filter for the purposes of filtering and backwashing respectively.

Back-flush filtering apparatus, particularly for a house water supply

A safety valve has a housing with an inlet, outlet and a threaded opening carrying a walled unit which is sealingly removable from the housing; the portion of the unit extending into the housing is apertured to permit flow and has a valve seat and co-operating plate to which is attached a valve stem extending through an annular diaphragm in secured relationship. The diaphragm is supported by the housing and in the portion of the unit exterior of the housing is a biasing device which acts on the diaphragm.

Safety valve

An adjustment control for a thermostatic valve consists of a non-rotatable component to the valve on which is mounted a rotatable knob for setting the temperature control, the knob having a maximum rotation of about one revolution. A releasable auxiliary device is provided which is operable between the component and the knob at a predetermined intermediate rotational position of the knob to limit the rotation of the latter.

Adjustment control for a thermostatic valve

A thermostatic valve has a working element, a valve seat and a guide member for the working element below the valve seat; the guide member is connected to the valve seat through a plurality of holding arms, each supported by a yoke arm connected above the valve seat. The guide member has a plurality of slots on its underside and each of the holding arms at its free end has an inwardly extending claw engageable with one of the slots to secure the guide member to the valve.

Thermostatic valve

A reverse flushing device has a housing with an inlet, an outlet and a first filter to receive the flow therebetween with means in the housing to divert flow through the first filter. A second filter, positioned upstream of the first filter, has an internal apertured housing with a movable apertured slide operable thereon to provide a closure to the second filter during flow through the first filter. The housing has a discharge aperture with a movable shut off element. The diverting means and tubular slide are responsive to opening of the shut off element whereby the former diverts flow through the first filter and the tubular slide aligns with the second filter housing to permit flow therethrough and into the tubular slide extension to reverse flush the particles on the first filter into the discharge aperture.

Reverse flushing filter device

A control unit is formed of a housing containing a filter with an inlet and outlet in line above the filter, the latter forming a channel with the housing; a pressure reducer is positioned between the inlet and the outlet above the filter. A rotary valve positioned between the filter and the pressure reducer reverses the flow in the unit. A plug-valve is located in the housing to provide drainage and the plug-valve is connected to the rotary valve so that on reversal of flow, the plug-valve opens to drain the unit.

Domestic water control unit

A valve seat and/or co-operating disc has an indented or zigzag perimeter. The disc is integral with the valve body and surrounds a body aperture through which a sealed valve stem reciprocates.

Valve disc and seat construction

The invention relates to a regulating drive for a thermostatically controlled feed member, especially the shaft of a heating valve, having a pivotable, spring-loaded actuating lever carrying a control element, preferably an expansion-material element, the operating member of the said control element being stationary and the mobile element being supported on the actuating lever, characterized in that the control element is mounted pivotably on the actuating lever.

Regulating drive, especially for a thermostatically controlled valve

A pressure reducer has a housing with an inlet and an outlet. A valve disc is located in the housing and a valve stem reciprocally and sealably moves in the valve disc with the outer end secured to a resilient diaphragm. The inner end of the valve stem extends into the inlet and is secured to a tubular closure member which is sealingly positioned in the inlet and is engageable with the valve disc. The surface of the tubular member subjected to pressure in the housing is adpated to equal the combined subjected to opposed pressure surfaces of the tubular member in the inlet and the end of the valve stem to which it is secured. Screens are provided around the tubular member.

Pressure reducer

A thermostatic valve comprises a housing having a valve seat and opposed openings in its wall for circulating coolant; a spring surrounds the housing and a valve plate is positioned for abutment against and retraction from the seat with the valve plate supporting a thermostatic operating element which bears against the inner surface of the housing to activate the valve plate depending on the temperature of the coolant. The valve plate has elastic arms, each arm having a free end to interfit into one of the opposed openings in the housing. The valve plate is assembled with the housing by force fitting the elastic arms into the openings and a compressive spring surrounding the housing is held in position between the protruding flanks of the housing and the outwardly extending projection of the arms in the openings.
