In the production of thermoplastic granulate material, after mixing the starting materials, it is common in the state of the art for these materials to be kneaded and compressed in extruders, with subsequent granulation. According to the invention, no extruder is used, rather the starting materials for the thermoplastic granulate material are supplied directly to a double belt press after the mixing. Subsequently, the generated web-type to sheet-type body is processed into a granulate material by means of grinding, or is used as a web-type, sheet-type, strip-type or film-type intermediate product for the production of a further intermediate product or end products.

Method and device for producing a thermoplastic granulate material

A double belt press having a first, lower circulating plastic belt and a second, upper circulating plastic belt. The plastic belts have a first, low flexural strength, and a product gap is formed between facing strands of the plastic belts for forming a plate-like product. A first circulating lower steel belt and a second circulating upper steel belt are provided and have a second flexural strength which is high in comparison to the flexural strength of the plastic belts. A forming section is formed between the facing strands of the steel belts, which forms part of the product gap. The first, lower steel belt runs parallel and bears against a rear face of the first plastic belt in the forming section during operation, and the second upper steel belt runs parallel and bears against a rear face of the second plastic belt in the forming section during operation.

The invention relates to a method for the production of a web composed essentially of a granulate and a polymer. In order for the web to have good suction against the substrate after it has been laid on a floor, the interstices between the granulate particles are not allowed to be filled with the polymer. According to the invention, this is brought about in that the polymer is applied to the top side of the granulate. After the polymer melts, the polymer seeps down through the granulate. By means of targeted control or regulation, this sinking process is influenced before the polymer reaches the underside of the web. The invention also comprises a sensor and the product as such.
