A motor housing for an electric motor has a generally cylindrical housing shell (), which, at one end (), accommodates a first bearing and a housing cover module () such that the housing cover module () closes an opposing, open end of the housing shell (), and serves as a second bearing. The cover module () is preferably of metal material and is integrally formed with a plurality of projecting tab and/or arm portions (). Around the housing shell (), several recesses or slots () are formed, flanked by deformable elements (). By axially applying a tool (), the deformable elements are deformed to secure the tabs () within the slots () and to thereby connect the shell () and the cover module () axially together. The resulting structure is highly resistant to vibrational decoupling, and can readily be obtained by high-speed automated production steps.

Motor housing

A portable data storage configuration has a card base and a display device, the display device being fixed to the card base. The display device is only partially connected to the card base by the fixed connection. This mounting technique results in that almost no lateral or shear forces act on the display device.
