A conveying system for pneumatically conveying plastic granulate comprises a feed location, at which the plastic granulate is fed into a conveying line by pressurized conveying gas, a target location, in conveying connection with the feed location, for moisture contained in the conveying gas, and a condensation tempering unit, which is arranged along a section or sections of the conveying line, for making the conveying line such temperature to at least partial condensation of moisture contained in the conveying gas to form a sliding film on an internal wall of the conveying line.

Conveying system and method for pneumatically conveying plastic granulate

A conveyor installation for plastics granulate comprises a dispatch location at which the plastics granulate with a pressurised carrier gas is dispatched into a conveyor line, a target location that in terms of conveyance is connected to the dispatch location, a humidification unit for humidifying the carrier gas and/or the plastics granulate by adding liquid, wherein a separation device for separating the humid carrier gas from the plastics granulate is provided at the target location.

When performing a method for pneumatically conveying plastic pellets, the plastic pellets are conveyed, by means of a carrier gas, through a conveyor line from a feed point to a destination with a liquid being added thereto, wherein the quantity of liquid added to the plastic pellets and/or the carrier gas is such that during conveying, the carrier gas is oversaturated with the liquid at least in sections of the conveyor line in such a way that a Froude number defining the conveying conditions in the conveyor line is smaller than 45 at any point along the conveyor line.

Method for pneumatically conveying plastic pellets

In a process for making plastic granulate, a polymeric material is plastifyed into a plastic mass which is divided into single plastic strands. After pressing the plastic strands in a stream of cooling liquid, the plastic strands are shredded in the cooling liquid into granules, thereby forming a dispersion which is conveyed through a first conduit to a separator. The dispersion is concentrated in the separator by withdrawing a portion of cooling liquid, and subsequently transported to a dryer along a second conduit which is longer than the length of the first conduit. In the dryer, the cooling liquid is separated from the granulate.

Process for making granulate of polymeric material

In a process for hydraulic transport of bulk material from a receiving site to a remote location via a conveying pipeline, a dispersion is prepared from bulk material and a liquid, and conducted into a feed pump which has a pressure side in communication with the entry into conveying pipeline, whereby a fraction of the liquid is withdrawn at a location between the pump and the entry into the conveying pipeline. Suitably, either the volume flow of the withdrawn fraction of the liquid represents a manipulated variable which is changed in dependence on a controlled variable constituted by the volume flow through or pressure in the conveying pipeline, or/and the dispersion is produced upstream of the feed pump from a controllable bulk material stream and controllable liquid amount, whereby the amount of liquid may also include at least a fraction of the liquid withdrawn from the pressure side of the feed pump.
