The invention concerns a hydrodynamic coupling, The invention is characterized in that the storage chamber is designed as a confined chamber which is pressure-tight to the environment, having a control pressure port so as to forcibly displace the working medium in the storage chamber with a control pressure.

Hydrodynamic coupling

The invention concerns a compression device fitted with a drive unit; with a compressor driven by the drive unit, which compresses a gaseous compression medium; with a cooling device, comprising at least one fan wheel, which cools the compression medium; the fan wheel is in drive connection with the drive unit or a second drive unit additionally provided, in order to be thereby driven in rotation. The invention is characterized in that a hydrodynamic clutch is arranged in the drive connection, via which the fan wheel is driven hydrodynamically, and the drive power transmission of the hydrodynamic clutch can be modified in operation by pressurizing the hydrodynamic clutch with a control pressure medium, wherein the compression medium is the control pressure medium at the same time.

Compression device and method for cooling a compression medium

A downwardly conveying conveyor installation, such as belt-conveyor installation, for transporting the conveyable articles along a conveying path from a geodetically higher location to a geodetically lower location. There is provided a motor drive, and a hydrodynamic coupling comprising a drive-side pump wheel and an output-side turbine wheel, which together form a toroidal operating space which is filled with operating medium. The pump wheel and the turbine wheel each have a blade arrangement with a multiplicity of blades which are arranged opposite one another such that the blades of the pump wheel are flush with the blades of the turbine wheel. The blades of the pump wheel, as seen in a circumferentially directed section through the operating space, are positioned obliquely, in the direction from the rotor base to the blade tip, counter to the driving direction of rotation of the pump wheel, and the blades of the turbine wheel are positioned obliquely, in the direction from the rotor base to the blade tip, in the driving direction of rotation of the turbine wheel.

Downwardly conveying conveyor installation

A hydrodynamic clutch includes at least two blade wheels that form at least one torus-shaped working chamber that can be filled with an operating medium. In a method of operating the hydrodynamic clutch, the filling degree is determined via a value that at least indirectly characterizes the filling degree. When a maximum filling degree is attained, the operating medium supply is interrupted. During the filling operation, the operating medium is led in a substantially proportional manner to the filling degree from the work chamber into an accumulation chamber coupled to the working chamber. At least one dynamic pressure generator or sensor is inserted into the accumulation chamber and is arranged relative to the accumulation chamber such that, in a first filling state in which the filling degree is lower than the maximum filling degree, no pressure or only a very small first pressure which is constant over the whole first filling state is generated in the dynamic pressure generating unit. In a second filling state which corresponds to the maximum filling degree, a second, substantially higher pressure is generated. This second pressure is at least indirectly used for driving a device that influences the operating medium supply to the working chamber.

Hydrodynamic clutch and method of operating a hydrodynamic clutch

A hydrodynamic clutch with a generally horizontal axis, specifically for underground operation. The clutch includes a primary wheel, a secondary wheel, a housing which comprises two essentially axially perpendicular end walls as well as a peripheral wall which is essentially concentric to the axis of the clutch, a scooping bowl fastened to the primary wheel, forming a scooping space and revolving jointly with the primary wheel (rotor), outlet bores discharging from the working space into the scooping space, and a scooping pipe dipping into the scooping space. At least one antechamber has an inlet port for receiving leakage water entrained and thrown off by the outside surface of the rotor. A line is used for transfer of operating fluid from the antechamber to the scooping space.

Hydrodynamic clutch

A hydrokinetic coupling has a primary vane wheel (11) and a secondary vane wheel (12), which define a toroidal working chamber. A shell (17) rotates with the primary vane wheel and envelops the secondary vane wheel. A constantly open and throttled outlet port (31) and an outlet valve (32) are disposed within the shell. The outlet valve can be closed by means of fluid pressure generated in a control line (33). In accordance with the invention, the control line has a fluid inlet (34) which is disposed in the shell interior. This is arranged at a determined distance from the axis of rotation of the coupling, so that fluid can only penetrate into the control line (33) if the slip in the coupling has assumed a specific minimum value. In this condition the outlet valve (32) is consequently closed, whereas it is opened at greater slip values.
