A method for producing sensor information depends on a rotational speed, using a rotational speed sensor which is adapted to output rotational speed pulses in predetermined angular positions of a physical sensor field that rotates at the rotational speed. In order to increase resolution, a digital angle signal each is determined between the pulses. A defined number of most significant bits of said angle information is output to determine the rotational speed so that the interval between two pulses is subdivided into a defined number of subintervals. An angle value which can be unambiguously interpreted by means of the sinusoidal signal can be determined from the cosine signal by using two phase shift sinusoidal signals and an arccos function. The device optionally outputs the angle signal below a threshold value and an impulse signal above the threshold value to determine speed.

Resolution increase in the rotational speed signal between rotational speed pulses

On the basis of a sensed driving situation of a vehicle which will occur in the future, it is determined whether a driving assistance system is able to control the vehicle in the automated driving mode in the future driving situation. If it is determined that an automated driving mode is not possible in the future driving situation, and a time (Ts) up to the occurrence of the future driving situation is longer than a time (Tu) necessary for the driver to assume control of the vehicle, it is checked whether the manual control processes sensed by sensors of the vehicle correspond, in the current driving situation, to the automated control processes, determined by the driving assistance system, for the current driving situation. In this case, the assumption of control of the vehicle by the driver is confirmed, and the vehicle continues to be controlled in the manual driving mode.

The invention relates to a method for correcting a position of a vehicle using a global satellite navigation system (GNSS) for determining the own position, comprising the following steps: establishing a first position of the with the GNSS, establishing a second position of the vehicle by fitting the first position into a street of a digital map, identifying at least one object in the surroundings of the vehicle, the position of which is referenceable in the digital map, establishing a real distance between the vehicle and the respective object by means of a sensor of the vehicle, calculating a calculated distance between the second position and the respective object, wherein a corrected position of the vehicle is established by minimizing the deviation of the calculated distance from the real distance.
