A folding top for a motor vehicle is provided. The folding top includes a rear roof part which delimits a window opening for a rear window and which is displaceable about a main pivot axis in order to transfer the folding top from a closed position into a storage position. The rear window is pivotable relative to the rear roof part about a window pivot axis which extends at a distance from the main pivot axis. The rear window bears against the rear roof part from the outside when the folding top is in the closed position and, after the folding top has been transferred into its storage position, is moved at least by way of a partial region through the window opening.

Folding top for a motor vehicle

In a motor vehicle and or a subassembly of a motor vehicle, e.g., a convertible or a roadster, with an opening roof, e.g., a soft top or a hardtop, which includes roof parts or roof elements which are mounted on a main bearing device so as to be able to pivot from a closed position into an open position, the main bearing device is fastened to a supporting structure of the motor vehicle, and with a roll bar which is fitted to the motor vehicle so as to be able to pivot from a storage position into a protective position. To reduce manufacturing costs, the main bearing device has an additional, secondary bearing device on which the roll bar is pivotally mounted.

Motor vehicle and subassembly of a motor vehicle

A folding convertible top for a vehicle has at least one roof part which can be displaced between a closed position and a stowed position, and can be brought out of the stowed position into a raised loading position. A folding-top kinematic mechanism on each side of the roof part has a main bearing element and an intermediate bearing element mounted rotatably on the main bearing element at a pivot point. The roof part is coupled both to the main bearing element and to the intermediate bearing element via links on both sides of the folding-top kinematic mechanism and can be displaced by means of at least one driving device. The driving device has at least one linear driving element that acts at least indirectly on the intermediate bearing element at a point remote from the pivot point of the intermediate bearing element with the main bearing element. A further device limits rotational movement of the intermediate bearing element during the movement of the roof part from the put-away position into the closed position. The roof part has a mass which acts on the pivot point via the link, such that during movement of the roof part from the stowed position into the closed position, movement of the link is possible only after the rotational movement of the intermediate bearing element is ended. A device is provided for preventing movement of the intermediate bearing element during movement of the roof part from the closed position into the stowed position.

Folding convertible top for a vehicle

The present invention relates to a cover device for a vehicle top storage compartment of a convertible vehicle. A cover can be pivoted between a closed position and an open position. Two side flaps are arranged on sides of the cover that lie opposite each other transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, which side flaps can be pivoted between a passive position, in which they open lateral passage openings, and an active position, in which they close the passage openings. A particularly inexpensive construction is achieved by the fact that the side flaps are mounted on the cover in each case via a bearing arrangement which makes it possible to lower the particular side flap relative to the cover and to pivot the side flap under the cover. A driving device provided for adjusting the side flaps is designed exclusively for the pivoting adjustment about the flap axis, which is defined by the sleeve and the bolt. The side flaps are mounted and arranged in such a manner that the lowering of the side flaps takes place automatically when the cover is opened.

Cover device for the vehicle top storage compartment of a convertible vehicle

A hardtop convertible vehicle has a front roof part, a central roof part and a rear roof part that includes C-pillars and a rear window. The roof parts are connected to one another in an articulated manner and are movable between a closed roof position and an open roof position by means of a displacing device. In the open roof position, the roof parts are located in a trunk of the vehicle, with the rear roof part and the central roof part lying one above the other. The rear window of the rear roof part is mounted in an articulated manner in relation to the C-pillars of the rear roof part such that it is pivoted in relation to the C-pillars during the movement of the roof parts between the closed roof position and the open roof position and assumes a position with its curvature in the same direction as the central roof part. In the open roof position, the front roof part lies outside the rear roof part and the central roof part, either along a backrest or along a motor vehicle tank.

Hardtop convertible vehicle

A fastening device for pivotably fixing one end of a linear drive to a support part includes a first fastening half disposed at an end of the linear drive and a second fastening half arranged on the support part. The linear drive has an installation position and a functional position, the installed position being inclined at an angle with respect to the functional position. One of the fastening halves includes a U-shaped or L-shaped section. The U-shaped or L-shaped section includes a bolt extending transversely with respect to an axis of the linear drive. The bolt has two mutually parallel, flat outer surfaces, the outer surfaces being disposed on two opposite sides of the bolt and extending parallel to a bolt axis. The other fastening half includes a cylindrical bolt socket having a radial bolt-insertion opening in an insertion direction. When the linear drive is in the installation position, the bolt is insertable into the bolt socket through the bolt-insertion opening with the outer surfaces of the bolt parallel to the insertion direction. When the bolt has been inserted into the bolt socket, the linear drive is pivotable about the bolt axis into the functional position.

A device for driving a folding top for a convertible has at least one main bearing, which is at least indirectly connected to the vehicle body, at least one main pillar to which the folding top is attached and which is mounted in a rotatable manner on the at least one main bearing, at least one driving mechanism for driving the at least one main pillar, and a fabric-retaining bow for stretching the folding top when it is closed. The at least one main bearing has a connecting-link-type guide. The at least one main pillar is provided with a slot. The at least one driving mechanism has a bolt-like element which is intended to be accommodated in the connecting-link-type guide of the at least one main bearing and in the slot of the at least one main pillar. At least one additional lever is connected in an articulated manner via a pivot to the fabric-retaining bow, and the at least one additional lever has a recess on its side facing away from the pivot for the purpose of accommodating the bolt-like element.

Device for driving a folding top for a convertible vehicle

A motor vehicle, in particular a convertible, is provided with a body that has at least one closure cover, which can be moved into an open and a closed position by an extendable driving device, and has the following features: in a front or rear end region, the closure cover can be connected to the body by at least one connecting device. The connecting device has a receiving element and an engagement element, provided for engagement in the receiving element. The connecting device limits the travel of the closure cover in at least one direction during the closing movement of the closure cover. At the opposite end to the connecting device, the closure cover or a component connected to the closure cover is rotatably mounted at least one pivot. The at least one pivot is connected pivotably to the body by at least one associated lever element.

Motor vehicle with a body

A hard-top vehicle is provided with a roof structure which includes a roof part and a rear-window part connected pivotably thereto. The roof structure is lowered from a closed position, in which it bears in the region of a front windscreen frame and covers the rear-passenger-compartment region, into an open position, towards the tail-end region of the vehicle, via a positive-control device. The positive control device is supported in the tail-end region of the vehicle bodywork and can be pivoted about a tail-end pivot pin fixed to the vehicle, into a folding-top compartment. The positive-control device includes at least one control element which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the roof part in the region of a roof pivot pin. In this arrangement, the control element is designed as a linkage which acts on a guide part, in the region of the roof pivot pin, with a guide rod and a main guide rod.

Hard-top vehicle

A device for opening and closing a pivotable tailgate which covers a folding-top compartment into which a pivotable roof structure for a cabriolet, hardtop vehicle can be deposited, is provided with an auxiliary frame on the tailgate in order to carry out the pivoting movement. At least one hydraulic cylinder is arranged on the auxiliary frame. The hydraulic cylinder is mounted by a slot and is provided with a sheathed cable which enables a locking wedge, which is arranged on the auxiliary frame, to be locked in a receiving part fixed on the body in a closed position of the tailgate. In this arrangement, the locking wedge can be released in a first movement phase of the hydraulic cylinder, which movement phase is provided for opening the tailgate. The hydraulic cylinder is provided with a locking and release element on which at least one actuating-cable part is arranged in such a manner that the locking wedge can be locked in the receiving part and released therefrom by the free movement of the hydraulic cylinder resulting from the slot.

Device for opening and closing a tailgate

A hard-top vehicle has a front-roof part, a rear-roof part, which is provided with a fixed rear window, lateral main links for moving the front-roof part and rear-roof part, and lateral vehicle pillars which are connected to the main links. The rear window is provided with a frame so that it can be pivoted relative to the vehicle pillars. The frame is provided laterally in each case, in its top region and its bottom region, with arresting elements. For arresting purposes and for a clamping connection of the rear window to the vehicle pillars, clamping elements act on the arresting elements. The clamping elements are arranged on the vehicle pillars or on parts which are connected to the vehicle pillars. The clamping elements are provided with actuating devices arranged on the vehicle pillars or on parts which are connected to the vehicle pillars.

Hardtop vehicle provided with a front roof part, a rear roof part having a fixed rear window, with lateral main links to move the front and rear roof parts, and with lateral vehicle pillars connected with the main links. The rear window is provided with at least one lateral frame that is articulated by lateral levers connected with the frame by a joint on the vehicle pillar, with the rear window being pivotable relative to the vehicle pillar during the stowing movement of the roof parts and being capable of being stowed with its convexity in the same direction as the front roof part in the rear vehicle area.

Device for stowing the roof structure of a hardtop vehicle

A movable roof construction for an open or convertible passenger car with a two-part foldable hardtop. To prevent the occurrence of wind noises in the area of the bordering of the two hardtop parts, a locking mechanism is provided between the two parallelogram control arms on each side of the parallelogram linkage. The locking mechanism is restrictedly coupled by transmission devices to the locking device of the forward roof part on the windshield cross member. Thereby, for a release of the parallelogram control arms, the locking mechanism can be unlocked together with an unlocking of the locking device.

A hard-top vehicle is provided with a roof structure which includes at least one roof part and a rear-window part and which can be pivoted, via a positive-control device supported such that it is fixed to the bodywork, from a closed position in which it bears in the region of the front windscreen frame and covers the rear-passenger-compartment region into an open position, towards the tail-end region of the vehicle. In the open position, the roof structure can be lowered into a folding-top compartment in the region of a tail gate supported via a pivot pin. The tail gate is articulated via its pivot pin, on an auxiliary frame. For its part, the auxiliary frame is supported, via a pivot pin, on the bodywork in the lower vehicle end region.
