A circular knitting machine for the production of an opened fabric tube comprises a needle cylinder (), a frame (), which is coupled to the needle cylinder () and in which at least a draw-off roller () and/or a take-up roller (), drive means (to) to drive said roller, and a blade () intended for opening the fabric tube are each rotatably mounted, and a flexible shaft (), which is rigidly connected to the blade () and a drive wheel (), for setting the blade () in rotation at a rotational speed dependent on the knitting speed. According to the invention, the drive wheel () of the flexible shaft () is functionally connected (FIG.) to the drive means (to) for the draw-off and/or take-up roller ().

Circular knitting machine with a rotatable blade for cutting a fabric tube

The invention relates to a circular knitting machine with a protective cover () at least partially surrounding a take down and/or winding up device () on the outside. The cover () which includes a guide fixed on the machine frame and segments (to) movably mounted on this. In accordance with the invention the segments (to) are so arranged at different radial distances from a machine axis () that they are movable relative to one another at least partially with mutual overlapping.
