A calcium-free lead alloy comprises lead and 0.003 wt %-0.025 wt % of at least two rare-earth metals. The rare-earth metals are at least a lanthanide and yttrium. Uses of the lead alloy include an electrode with an electrode structure, which is at least partly formed of the lead alloy and a lead-acid accumulator with the electrode.

The present invention relates to a device and a method for the detection of hydrogen in a gas volume by means of an exothermal catalytic recombination of hydrogen and oxygen present in the gas volume into water. The amount of energy that is released during such an exothermal catalytic recombination is measured in the form of a temperature difference and is compared with a stored limit value. When a corresponding limit value is exceeded an appropriate signal is output.

Method and device for the detection of hydrogen

The invention relates to a recombiner system () for catalytically recombining hydrogen that is produced in energy accumulators or energy converters. The aim of the invention is to provide a recombiner system () which can optionally be used for energy accumulator or energy converter systems having different operating conditions and that helps to counteract functional defects. For this purpose, the recombiner system () is formed by individual recombiner elements () that can be combined with each other in a modular fashion, said recombiner elements () comprising at least one respective catalyst ().
