Rotations at multiple longitudinal levels (e.g., rotations from different short axis views) are determined. Three-dimensional representations are generated as a function of the rotations, such as distorting the representation to show rotation and/or modulating the display values as a function of the rotations. Twist and/or torsion of the heart may be calculated from the rotations.

Ultrasound imaging of rotation

The invention relates to a method and to a device for the representation of a predeterminable region () in multidimensional data sets (). The data sets () are especially made of three or four dimensional image data of an object which is to be examined. The image data is produced by means of one or several receiving elements of the object and especially at least one two-dimensional cut (S) is located and displayed through the predeterminable region (). Method and device for the representation of a predeterminable region in multidimensional data sets

The invention relates to a method or a device for recording ultrasonic images of an object ( ) in which ultrasonic waves are radiated onto the object ( ) by an ultrasonic emitter, and ultrasonic waves reflected by the object ( ) are received by an ultrasonic receiver. For recording individual image partial areas ( ), the ultrasonic emitter or ultrasonic receiver ( ) is displaced along the object ( ) or is at least partially rotated with regard to the object ( ). Method and device for recording ultrasonic images

The ultrasound imaging system and method of the present invention defines the gray-scale value and other parameters for each of a plurality of image elements in an output volume by determining all of the image information in the scanning planes that is contained within a defined portion of the output volume (which contains the image element) and thereafter simultaneously analyzing the selected image information. These steps are repeated for each of the image elements in the output volume.
