An insertion arrangement () is provided to make it easier for an operator to insert several needles () clamped in a multiple clamping chuck (), even in the case of certain positional deviations, simultaneously in the associate bores () of a needle board (). The insertion arrangement () comprises a guide section () with many parallel grooves () that are arranged at the distance of the bores (), and that, respectively, can accommodate the tip () of a needle () and can guide said tip to the associate bore (). In so doing, the grooves () help align the individual needles () with respect to the bores () in that the grooves correct potential positional deviations by slightly bending the needles (). The insertion arrangement () is mounted to an automatic loading machine () and can be adjusted and locked relative to a needle board () accommodated in the automatic loading machine.

Insertion aid for loading needle boards

A semi-automatic loader for needle boards () includes a filling device ()that presents felting needles () arranged at a ratio that is consistent with the ratio of holes of a needle board. A machine operator can then grasp the felting 5 needles () by use of a multiple collet chuck () and set them in groups in the rows of holes of the needle board (). This provides a loading method featuring extremely high productivity.

The transport carriage () for the accommodation of a needle board () comprises a console () that is preferably supported so as to be pivotable about a rotational axis (). Clamping jaws () are provided on the console (), with the clamping jaws clamping the needle board ()&#x2014;preferably in a force-limited manner&#x2014;between each other and thus holding said needle board in a frictionally engaged manner.

A transport cart () for needle boards () in accordance with the invention is provided with an accommodation device () that is designed so that its height can be adjusted and that it can also be pivoted about at least one axis, and that it is associated with a protective cover which can be moved together with the accommodation device. Numerous adjustment options, guide and stop devices are provided in order to be able to also handle large and heavy needle boards in a safe and careful manner.

A new shaft drive provides for a switch-on and switch-off of individual heald shafts even at high working speeds. For this purpose switching pawls are provided which couple an eccentric with permanently revolving and/or back-and-forth oscillating disks. Measures for improving the controllability of such a clutch device are the control of the switching pawls by slot guides, associating bi-stabile biasing devices with the switching pawls and/or dividing the switching function into individual switching pawls () which are associated individually with differently running disks (). Preferably, one of the two disks executes a continuous rotary motion, while the respective other disk performs only an oscillating motion which determines the heald shaft motion during the resting phases thereof.

Shaft drive for heald shafts of weaving machines

A novel shaft gear for harmonious engagement and disengagement of individual heddle shafts and for deriving their motion from the rotary motion of a single input shaft has a coupling system with two input elements. While one of the input elements serves to drive the output element of the coupling system permanently, the other input element serves solely to synchronize the output element briefly with the first input element. The switchover takes place in the brief synchronous phases, in selected angular regions that correspond to the top or bottom reversal point of the heddle shaft. For the switchover, such novel shaft drive mechanisms do not require any stoppage of motion for the input shaft or the shaft drive mechanism.
