A method is disclosed for determining bone mineral density values of an object. In an embodiment, the method includes acquisition of first two-dimensional projection overview image data of the object to be examined in an image detail with a first X-ray energy; acquisition of at least second two-dimensional projection overview image data of the object to be examined in an image detail with at least one different second X-ray energy; determining a bone overview image data record using the first and second projection overview image data; determining at least one specific evaluation region of the image detail using the bone overview image data record; and determining a bone mineral density value for the specific evaluation region of the image detail using the image data of the bone overview image data record in the specific evaluation region. A computerized tomography system for implementing a method is also disclosed.

A method is disclosed for detecting damage to silicone implants. In an embodiment, the method includes taking at least two computed tomography recordings at different X-ray spectra or different mono-energies of the X-ray radiation and reconstruction thereof. A data point is determined in a diagram for each voxel of interest, the X-ray attenuation values for different X-ray energies being plotted against one another; The data point, or another value for each voxel of interest determined from the X-ray attenuation values, is compared to known data points or values of body tissue and/or of silicone, and a note or warning is output if the data point or other value deviates from the known data points or values for body tissue by at least a first threshold value and/or in the event of simultaneous approximation to the known data point or value for silicone by less than a second threshold value.

A method is disclosed for producing a noise-reduced CT image data record by frequency band breakdown, a computer system for carrying out the method, and a CT system () with such a computer system. In an embodiment of the method, several linear-combined mixed image data records are produced from several simultaneously-recorded energy spectrum-specific CT image data records (X); a frequency band breakdown of the mixed image data records (M) takes place into a first lowest frequency band (F) and several higher frequency bands; and a result image data record is calculated, wherein each mixed image data record (M) is multiplied with precisely one filter and with a location-dependent function (g(r)) and is thereby totaled, and wherein g(r)=1.

Method for producing a noise-reduced CT image data record, computer system, and CT system

A method is disclosed for the reduction of image artifacts, in particular metal artifacts, during the generation of computed tomography image data of an object. In at least one embodiment of the method, two CT image data sets are generated with different medium x-ray energies. By way of a weighted combination of the two CT image data sets, a new image data set is calculated. The weighting factor employed in the weighted combination is here selected in such a way that the image artifacts in the new CT image data set are significantly reduced compared with the image artifacts in the two original CT image data sets. In this way it is possible in a simple manner significantly to reduce in particular metal artifacts in CT images.
