X-ray system and image reconstruction method

To generate images, in which a first row area of a multiple-row detector is illuminated with a first X-ray spectrum and a second row area of the multiple-row detector, trailing in the direction of travel, is illuminated with a second X-ray spectrum, image data is recorded at a pitch chosen such that one slice image can be reconstructed in each case for a sectional position for the first and the second row area. Correspondingly, for the sectional position, the respective slice image for the first and the second row area is reconstructed. For a third row area, illuminated with the first and the second X-ray spectrum, a reference sectional image is reconstructed as a slice image. To generate motion-reduced first and second spectral images assigned to the first and second row area respectively, the slice images of the first and second row areas are registered to the reference sectional image.

A method for the reconstruction of image data based upon a plurality of multi-energy projection measurement data sets of a field of examination of an object under examination is described. In an embodiment of the method, a plurality of projection measurement data sets, produced via multi-energy CT imaging using differing X-ray energy spectra of the field of examination of the object under examination, are captured. In addition, a reduced number of image data sets are produced based upon the plurality of projection measurement data sets by applying a basic material decomposition and an image mix. A method for image reconstruction is disclosed, based upon a first plurality of spectral raw data sets. The method includes forming a second plurality of virtual raw data sets; reconstructing an auxiliary image data set on the basis of a virtual raw data set. A first material is selected from a material group which comprises a plurality of materials. Material-specific maps are generated for a number of second materials of the material group. A determination of material line integrals take place, for the second materials with forward projection of the respective material-specific map. Subsequently, synthetic projection data sets are determined for each material. Finally, a reconstruction of at least one image data set takes place on the basis of the synthetic projection data sets for a number of materials of the material group. An image reconstruction device and a computed tomography system are also disclosed.

The method provides two image data records of two computed tomography pictures of an object area including the kidney stones that have been recorded in the context of a different spectral distribution of the X-radiation. For each voxel of a slice of the object area that has X-ray attenuation values typical of kidney stones there is calculated from the two image data records a ratio r that is yielded from X-ray attenuation values of the voxel and prescribed X-ray attenuation values of pure urine in the context of the different spectral distributions of the X-radiation. A method and a correspondingly configured tomography scanner are disclosed for normalizing image data with respect to a contrast in the image data produced by a contrast agent, the image data illustrating a tissue structure to be examined and at least part of a blood vessel system of an examination region connected to the tissue structure, which are at least in part permeated by the contrast agent. In an embodiment of the method, image data of the examination region is provided with the aid of the tomography scanner. At least one section of a reference vessel permeated by contrast agent is selected in the image data. The image data is normalized on the basis of image data from the section of the reference vessel such that the contrast in the image data as a result of the contrast agent is almost independent of patient-specific and examination-specific parameters in order to ensure that image data from different times can be compared.

Method and tomography scanner for normalizing image data with respect to a contrast in the image data produced by a contrast agent

A method and an image evaluation unit are disclosed for recognizing and marking contrast agents in blood vessels of the lung with the aid of a CT examination using at least two different x-ray energy spectra. In at least one embodiment, the method includes scanning a patient at least in the region of the lung with two different x-ray energy spectra, with the patient having contrast agents in the blood stream; reconstructing an at least two or three dimensional tomographic display for each x-ray energy spectrum which reproduces the local spectrum-specific absorption properties of the scanned region, wherein a surrounding area is defined for a multiplicity of voxels for which an average ratio is calculated with the aid of the local absorption values of the at least two x-ray energy spectra, which surrounding area specifies a measure for the ratio of the proportion of contrast agent to the proportion of soft tissue in the surrounding area of the respectively considered voxel, and wherein, in the case of this ratio dropping below a threshold value, this voxel is considered to have reduced circulation and is marked in a tomographic display.
