A method for the operation of a particulate filter system for an internal combustion engine wherein an. An exhaust gas stream enters a housing via a gas inlet opening. The housing receives a particulate filter, the stream flows into crude gas ducts connected to the gas inlet opening, and the stream can flow out of the particulate filter via clean gas ducts that are in fluid connection with a gas outlet opening, and are separated from the crude gas ducts. The crude gas ducts are connected to a connecting space in the direction of flow, and the connecting space has an exhaust port controlled by a closing mechanism. According to the invention, a method for operating an open particulate filter system is provided, by which the degree of separation of the soot particles from the exhaust gas can be increased. This is achieved in that a partial exhaust gas stream of the exhaust gas stream can be discharged via the exhaust port into the environment, just as the primary exhaust gas flow can be discharged into the environment via the gas outlet opening, according at least to a particulate load thereof.

Particulate filter system having a variable degree of separation

A central distance measuring device, which can be directed at the heliostats, is used to determine the settings of the heliostats of a heliostat field. The distance measuring device measures the space between a plurality of measuring points from the measuring site and, based on this, determines the spatial alignment of the respective heliostat. A computer contains astronomical solar altitude software and controls an actuating device of the heliostat such that the heliostat assumes the alignment intended according to the solar altitude. With the invention, position sensors and/or angle sensors on the individual heliostats are avoided. All heliostats are aligned by a central computer.

A coolable segment for a turbomachine such as a combustion turbine, which turbomachine is operated with a hot fluid. The segment comprises a cooling wall extending in an axial direction and in a circumferential direction orthogonal to the axial direction; a hot fluid surface to be exposed to the hot fluid. Between the wall and the surface a cooling structure is arranged which is permeable to cooling fluid and provides cooling surfaces for cooling by heat transmission through radiation. The cooling structure comprises either a netting, in particular a wire netting or a porous material.

According to the present invention, a porous member made of temperature-resistant material for filtering and/or mixing fluids comprises first channels ( ) and second channels ( ) respectively extending therethrough. The invention further refers to methods of making the porous member ( ), wherein, according to the present invention, a foamed plastic material member is formed with channels, the foamed material member is wetted with wetting material and is afterwards removed by evaporation during the curing.

A solar receiver (1) for a solar-thermal power plant, comprising a receiver surface (2) facing towards the concentrated incident solar radiation (8) and including a plurality of mutually spaced absorber bodies (3), is provided with gas channels arranged between the absorber bodies (3) for supplying a gas or gaseous mixture (11) adapted to absorb solar radiation (8) to a region located in front of the receiver surface (2). In this region, the gas (11) will absorb a part of the incident solar radiation (8) and then will be sucked together with the ambient air (9) through the absorber bodies (3) to be further heated therein.

A solar receiver (10; 110) for a solar thermal power plant comprises an elongated supply chamber (16; 118) for a heat carrier medium flowing in the supply chamber (16; 118) at a small loss of pressure, an elongated absorber (13; 113), the inlet areas (21; 119) thereof extending in a longitudinal direction and limiting the supply chamber (16; 118), and a drain chamber (18; 125) extending in a longitudinal direction and being contained in the supply chamber (16; 118) for the heated heat carrier medium and being limited by at least one outlet area (22; 124) extending in a longitudinal direction, the inlet area (21; 119) and the outlet area (22; 124) being offset against each other in a transverse direction. This is why the heat carrier medium flows in a transverse direction to the absorber (13; 113) so that the flow causing a loss of pressure is limited on a relatively short path and the heat carrier medium being heated flows towards the increasing intensity of incident radiation.

A trough-type parabolic concentrator (1) for a solar thermal power plant comprises a reflector plate (3) bent in trough shape and a support structure (4) for supporting the reflector plate (3) and comprising a plurality of wooden segments (2) arranged in a row in the longitudinal direction of the trough. Each segment (2) is assembled from a plurality of wooden frames (5). Using wooden frames (5) as the basic element of the supporting structure (4) allows for a lightweight, simple and low-cost structure of the trough-type parabolic concentrator (1).

A shutter (1; 10) for regulating the fluid flow in an absorber pipe (D) of a solar-thermal power plant comprises a shutter body (2) with a central shutter opening (3) for the fluid (F) and a movable throttle element (4; 12) at least partly closing the shutter opening (3; 11). The throttle element (4) is connected to a motion element (6) that is in thermal contact with the fluid (F) and changes its shape as a function of the fluid temperature so that in case of an increased temperature of the fluid (F), the opening cross section of the shutter opening (3; 11) is enlarged, whereby the mass flow of the fluid (F) increases and the temperature thereof drops.
