A traction drive of a machine has an internal combustion engine, a transmission module located downstream of the engine and having an adjustable output speed, and a drive axle with a differential transmission, having a mechanical drive connection with the transmission module. The transmission module is a removable, replaceable, and interchangeable transmission module () which can be selected from a plurality of transmission modules () having different transmission types, each with a standardized input interface and a standardized output interface. A first transmission module () can be a hydrostatic compact transmission having a hydraulic pump () with an adjustable hydraulic delivery volume, and a hydraulic motor () in a functional hydraulic connection with the pump (). A second transmission module () can be an electric compact transmission having a generator () and an electric motor () in a functional electrical connection with it.

A forward-control counterweight fork-lift truck has a liftable and tiltable load-lifting device (), a traction drive and operating drives for the movement of the load-lifting device (). A calculation model (D) is stored in a control device (SE), to which directly or indirectly acting sensors (S) are connected for detecting the lifting load (L), the lifting height (H), the tilting angle (WM), the load torque (M), the direction of travel (R), the driving speed (V), and the steering angle (WL). The control device (SE) is designed to determine a driving and load state (Z) based on the detected physical variables (L, H, WM, M, R, V, WL) and the stored calculation model (D) and is operatively connected to the traction drive and the operating drives. Depending on the driving and load state (Z) determined, the operating speed, starting and braking acceleration, and driving speed are each reduced.

A counterweighted fork lift truck has a vehicle body () with an equipment compartment (R) located underneath a driver workplace (). The equipment compartment and contains heat-emitting components. The vehicle body () includes at least one step () which forms the lower boundary of a step recess () which is inboard with respect to the lateral contour (S) of the vehicle body. At least one air intake opening () for the supply of cooling air into the equipment compartment (R) is located in the vicinity of the step recess ().

An industrial truck driver protection roof has a frame with front-end and rear-end vertical load-bearing struts (T-T) that are located at a distance from each other in a transverse direction of the vehicle, and horizontal roof trusses (D-D) that are located in the roof area. The frame has two prefabricated assemblies (I, II) that are configured so that they can be connected to each other. Each assembly (I and II) includes two load-bearing struts (TTand TT) and at least one roof truss (DDDand DDDrespectively) that connects the load-bearing struts (TTand TTrespectively) to each other.

A forward-control counterweight fork-lift truck has a liftable and tiltable load-lifting device (), a traction drive, operating drives, and a steering drive. A calculation model (D) based on vehicle-specific information is stored in a control device (SE). A plurality of sensors (S) detect physical variables (V, R, H, M, L, WM, WL, BL, BQ, G) relevant to the tipping behavior of the industrial truck. The control device (SE) determines a driving and load state (Z) based on the detected physical variables (V, R, H, M, L, WM, WL, BL, BQ, G) and the stored calculation model (D) and is operatively connected to the traction drive, the operating drives, and the steering drive such that, depending on the driving and load state (Z) determined, corrective interventions (K, K) which maintain or increase the tipping stability can be carried out.

A drive device for an industrial truck includes a pivoted bolster rotatable around a vertical axis (V), two drive wheels () mounted on the pivoted bolster and a device located axially between the drive wheels () to generate a differential action between the drive wheels (). A vertically oriented motor () can be provided above the drive wheels () and a mechanical differential () can be coupled with the motor () and the drive wheels (). Alternatively, each drive wheel (or) can be coupled with its own motor (or). Alternatively still, a double rotor electric motor () having two rotors () and a common stator () can be located between the drive wheels (or) and coupled with a neighboring drive wheel (or).

Drive device for an industrial truck

An industrial truck, in particular a fork lift truck, is provided with a rear weight and an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine is fastened to the rear weight. The internal combustion engine is advantageously mounted so that it can oscillate around an axis that extends in the transverse direction of the industrial truck.
