For a woven fabric () with an additional thread () laid out in a zigzag shape, in order to ensure in certain cases that the zigzag thread () has its zigzag tip () always at the same position over the length of the woven fabric, it is proposed that the weft thread () is introduced at certain points in the woven fabric () in a floating manner over a plurality of adjacent warp threads () and that the feed needle () is introduced or inserted into the woven fabric () at least at one side of the zigzag laid cover thread () at several laying points or at all laying points where the weft thread () is floating over several adjacent warp threads (). The cover thread () is positioned at the inside of the zigzag shape.

Method for pattern-directed formation of the connection point of an effect thread in the woven fabric

In order to produce a plurality of fabric strips () from a fabric () during the manufacturing process thereof, a method is proposed which utilizes the steps of: inserting weft threads () into the open warp thread shed, laying of a plurality of cover threads () in a zigzag shape by a plurality of feed needles (), cutting the fabric () in the drawing-off direction into a plurality of woven strips (), and pulling off the warp threads () that are located between the cutting-side laying points of the cover threads and the cutting device. This method can be implemented in a particularly advantageous manner if, in addition to the cover thread () introduced in zigzag manner, a further cover thread () is introduced at each fabric edge () by a further feed needle in such manner that it is connected to the zigzag thread whereby the zigzag thread is prevented from fraying.

Method for producing cold cut textile webs

A ribbon needle weaving loom including an electromechanic actuator for driving the weft thread insertion needle. A control device is provided and the actuator is configured&#x2014;in co-operation with the control unit&#x2014;in such manner as to allow preselection of the end position of the weft thread insertion needle at weft-insertion and of the position with retracted weft-insertion needle, and/or the starting time point of the motion of the weft-insertion needle and/or&#x2014;the instantaneous speed of the motion of the weft-insertion needle, at least within a certain range. The electromechanic actuator is configured as rotary actuator or a linear actuator.

Narrow fabric needle loom and corresponding weaving method

In order to improve the design of a ribbon needle loom for applications in which the woven material () shall have a variable width, it is proposed to arrange the weft needle () and also the knitting needle () serving to knit the weft thread () at the side directed away from the weft insertion onto a common, displaceable carrier (). As a further improvement, in order to be able to produce symmetrical woven material () with such a ribbon needle loom, a bilateral weft-insertion is proposed, wherein the two weft needles () and the two knitting needles () by means of which the respective weft thread () is knitted at the side directed away from the weft insertion are each disposed on a common, displaceable carrier (). Advantageously, the carriers () do not hinder each other upon displacement, but rather are arranged on top of each other.

Ribbon needle loom

In order to provide a weaving loom having incorporated knitting threads, it is provided that the corresponding device for incorporating knitting threads comprises a feeding device for each knitting thread and, also for each knitting thread, a dipping guide needle () which comprises a thread guiding eye and which can be dipped between warp threads () into the shed all the way below the insertion path of the weft-insertion device (). Each one of the dipping guide needles () is slidingly arranged transversely to the warp direction, thus being able to move across the width of the woven material. Furthermore, there is provided a combing shaft () that comprises a plurality of teeth with intermediate spaces arranged therebetween for guiding the knitting threads. The combing shaft () that is slidable transversely to the direction of the warp thread and is rotatable around an axis in the direction of the rail is arranged transversely to the direction of the warp thread behind the stop position of the reed. The teeth of the combing shaft comprise protrusions which are designed in such manner that the teeth can retain the knitting threads in at least one rotational position of the combing shaft.

A method for folding a textile strip length, including the steps of first holding the strip length firmly close to an auxiliary folding edge whose direction is parallel to a definitive folding edge, folding a part of the strip around the auxiliary folding edge substantially perpendicular to the plane of the strip length to form a definitive fold, gripping an end of the part of the strip folded around the auxiliary folding edge, compressing the part of the strip against a clamping surface arranged substantially co-planar with the plane of the strip length and belonging to a clamping element forming the definitive fold, and smoothing and fixing the folded part of the strip lying substantially in the plane of the strip length between the clamping surfaces arranged substantially in the plane of the strip length.
