A digital web printing press, control apparatus and method for operating the digital web printing press includes selecting a frequency for actuating a digital printing head at the frequency to output printing ink onto a print web, wherein a specified conveying speed for conveying the print web is ascertained based on the selected frequency and printing data, a motor driving a first roller and/or a motor driving a second roller is controlled based on the specified conveying speed such that the print web between the first roller and the second roller is conveyed at the specified conveying speed and the digital printing head at the selected frequency and activated based on the printing data such that the digital printing head is advantageously actuated at a selected, fixed frequency, and such that complex dynamic actuation of the digital printing head and an associated measurement and control system are eliminated.

The property of the component of the apparatus or of the system is detected by using an electronic device for a wireless detection of component-related data.

There is described a regulating system for register adjustment in a printing press which has at least one printing unit, wherein the regulating system has at least one register regulator. In the regulating system, a pilot control variable and/or a register error estimated variable are/is provided for influencing the register adjustment. A drive bus is advantageously used for transferring these variables between different printing units, wherein the register regulation is advantageously distributed in a decentralized manner among different regulating devices for carrying out the drive regulation.

Register regulation in a printing press

In a method and a device for the detection, at the correct time, of pressure marks situated at regular intervals on a print web, use is made of cameras, with a processing unit which is assigned to the camera. The activation of the camera is no longer triggered externally in order to detect the pressure marks. Instead, the drive control system, which actuates a movement of the print web, is connected to a bus to which the cameras and therefore the processing units are also connected. It is thereby possible for the drive control system to provide the processing units with process data which the processing units can use to calculate detection times. The activation of the camera takes place, on the basis of the calculation, automatically by means of the cameras with the processing unit itself.

A method for increasing the control response of a drive train of a machine tool or production machine with backlash and/or elasticity is described. A combined signal comprised of the motor speed measured on the motor and the load speed measured near the load of the drive train is supplied to a controller. The combined signal can generated in one of two ways: (1) by weighting the measured motor speed with a first multiplication factor (&#x3b1;), by weighting the measured load speed with a second multiplication factor (1&#x2212;&#x3b1;), and by subsequently adding the weighted motor speed to the weighted load speed; or (2) by first subtracting the measured load speed from the measured motor speed, then weighting the resulting difference by a multiplication factor &#x3b1;, and finally adding the load speed to the weighted difference.
