The invention relates to a crossflow-filtration method for beverages, in particular beer, which comprises the following steps: a) the feed liquid is introduced into a filter module by means of a tangential flow through a filter membrane () in a first direction, whereby the filtrate flow on the filtrate side () of the filter module is maintained within predetermined threshold values; b) the entry pressure is reduced and the filter is backflushed by surges of filtrate initiated by a reversal of the flow direction transversally to the membrane; c) the feed liquid is optionally introduced in an inverse flow direction to that of step a) and the concentrate is evacuated on the non-filtrate () side of the module; d) the entry pressure is reduced and the filter is backflushed by surges of filtrate initiated by a reversal of the flow direction transversally to the membrane; e) steps a) to d) are repeated until the filtrate flow lies below the lower predetermined threshold value; f) to k) the filter is emptied by applying pressure, backflushed, rinsed and l) steps a) to k) are resumed.

Crossflow-filtration method for beverages

The invention relates to a filter element (F), particularly for the static or dead-end filtration of fluids, comprising an inner, essentially hollow supporting core () and at least one filter layer () placed thereon. The inner supporting core () is formed as a single piece together with a first end plate () and with a second end plate (). The first end plate () comprises a connecting piece (), which is provided therewith as a single piece and which is fluid-connected to the supporting core (). The second end plate () has a seat (), which is formed therein, is fluid-connected to the supporting core () and is adapted to the shape of the connecting piece () whereby enabling a connecting piece () of a second structurally identical filter element (F) to be at least partially inserted into the seat () in order to establish a fluid connection between the supporting cores () of the filter elements (F). The invention also relates to a filter device for fluids comprising a housing, which has an inlet for the fluid to be filtered and an outlet for the filtrate, and comprising two or more inventive filter elements (F) that are interconnected via the respective connecting piece () and the respective seat (). The outlet is fluid-connected to a housing-side seat into which the connecting piece () of one of the at least two filter elements (F) can be at least partially inserted in order to establish a fluid connection between the outlet and the supporting cores () of the two or more filter elements (F).

Filter element, particularly for the static or dead-end filtration of fluids, and corresponding filter device

The invention relates to a device and an assembly for cross-flow filtration comprising filter cassettes. Said filter cassettes are cost-effective to produce as they have few connections and simple clamping plates and are characterized by a long service life and by being highly flexible in adapting their capacity to the desired cross-flow filtration performance. The inventive device () comprises a holder and at least one filtration segment () consisting of clamping plates with filter cassettes fitted in a sealed manner therebetween. The clamping plates, which are configured as end plates, separation plates, distribution plates and collection plates and the filter cassettes are positioned on the holder so that they can be moved towards one another. The filtration segment consists of two sequences (') of at least one filter cassette (&#x2032;), a distribution plate (&#x2032;) and at least one additional filter cassette (&#x2032;), located between two end plates (&#x2032;) and interconnected by a common collection plate () for the evacuation of the filtrate. The device and assembly are used for treating liquid media in the fields of reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, dialysis, ultrafiltration and microfiltration.
