A pump for pumping fluid, wherein the pump comprises a pump head comprising a working chamber, a piston assembly configured for reciprocating within the working chamber to thereby displace fluid, a pump base accommodating a piston actuator being mechanically lockable to the piston assembly in a working mode of the pump to thereby transmit drive energy to the piston assembly to reciprocate, and a locking/unlocking mechanism configured to, upon unfastening the pump head from the pump base, mechanically unlock the piston actuator from the piston assembly in a maintenance mode of the pump.

A sealed fluidic component for use in a fluidic flow path is made by providing a composite material comprising a first material and a second material, wherein the first material and the second material are different PAEK materials with the first material having a lower melting point than the second material. The composite material is heated to provide a sealing by the first material.

A fitting element, in particular for an HPLC application, is configured for providing a fluidic coupling of a tubing to a fluidic device. The fitting element comprises a gripping piece to exert&#x2014;upon coupling of the tubing to the fluidic device&#x2014;a grip force (G) between the fitting element and the tubing. The gripping piece comprises a hydraulic element configured to transform an axial force (S) into a hydraulic pressure (P) within the hydraulic element. The hydraulic pressure (P) in the hydraulic element causes the grip force (G).

A fitting for coupling a capillary to another component of a fluidic device is disclosed. The fitting includes a ferrule configured for enclosing a front part of the capillary and for contributing to a fluidic sealing between the fitting and the other component; a ferrule chuck configured for enclosing a back part of the capillary; and a housing configured for accommodating at least a part of the ferrule chuck and for pushing the ferrule chuck against the ferrule.

A needle for handling a fluid in an analysis system is described. The needle includes a needle body made of a ceramic material and having a fluid conduit extending between a fitting end and a seat end. The fitting end is configured to be connected to a fitting and the seat end () being insertable into a seat. The needle body is tapering towards the fitting end. A fixing body is arranged on the needle body next to the fitting end for exerting an axial force when the needle body is connected to the fitting, and a slide-on element to be slid over the needle body so as to push the fixing body towards the fitting end.

A valve arrangement is disclosed for providing a switchable fluid connection between a fluid delivery system for driving a mobile phase and a stationary phase adapted for separating compounds of a sample fluid comprised in the mobile phase. The valve arrangement comprises a first valve comprising a first port adapted to be coupled to the fluid delivery system, a second port, and a third port, wherein the first valve is adapted to switch, in a first switch transition, from a first state wherein the first port is coupled with the second port, over a second state wherein the first port, the second port and the third port are coupled altogether, to a third state wherein the first port is coupled with the third port, a second valve comprising a fifth port adapted to be coupled to the stationary phase, a sixth port, and a seventh port, wherein the second valve is adapted to switch, in a second switch transition from a fourth state wherein the fifth port is coupled with the sixth port, to a fifth state wherein the fifth port is coupled with the seventh port, a first fluid path connecting the second port and the sixth port, and a second fluid path connecting the third port and the seventh port, wherein the second fluid path comprises a sample introduction path adapted for introducing the sample fluid into the mobile phase.

For dispensing volumes of liquids, a hinged septum has a flap inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of a liquid channel. A deposition device deposits liquid on the flap, wherein the deposition device is arranged to contact the flap.

A valve for liquid separation, especially for analytical or preparative liquid chromatography, includes a valve body having an inlet and at least two outlets connected to the inlet for a flow of liquid. The valve body includes a sealing element having shut-off surfaces for alternately shutting off the outlets. The shut-off surfaces face away from each other and have the shape of a cone segment or spherical segment.

A tube fitting provides a sealed flow connection between an open-ended duct that extends along the longitudinal axis of a tube and an open-ended duct of a base element, for liquid separation technology. The tube fitting has a ring-shaped thrust piece with a receptacle for the tube and a ring-shaped, spring-elastic compensating element with receptacle for the tube. The tube fitting further comprises a fastening element that can be fastened tightly to the base element. When sealed, the base element, the thrust piece, the compensating element and the tube can be braced by means of the fastening element under elastic deformation of the compensating element. A spring serves as a compensating element, wherein the spring and the connection parts arranged within the spring excursion range are coordinated to each other such that a leaky connection caused by elastic deformaton or material settling of parts braced together is excluded.

A connecting capillary for analytical measuring-technology, in particular for high pressure liquid chromatography and for capillary electrophoresis, comprises a glass capillary, in particular a fused silica capillary, which is characterized in that the glass capillary is surrounded at least it its end regions by a sheath of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) or a PEEK-derivative.

A diode array spectrophotometer has an entrance slit apparatus, a diffraction grating, a diode array and a casing to define the relative positions of these elements. The casing and the holder for accepting the diffraction grating are made of a ceramic whose coefficient of thermal expansion is adapted to that of the diode array. The grating holder has a cylindrical outer surface and is situated within a conic-frustum-shaped opening of the casing. Between the grating holder and the conic-frustum-shaped opening, there are a plurality of filler elements which are made of ceramic or glass.
