A driver circuit for a semiconductor light source and to a method for controlling the brightness thereof are provided. When a pulse width modulated semiconductor light source reaches a duty cycle threshold value, the voltage is increased or decreased through a variable voltage source in order to achieve a higher dynamic range.

A linear light source is provided that includes a light-emitting element and a light guide, which has a core with an end and a longitudinal extension. In the operating state, light from the light emitting element is injected on the end and is guided along the longitudinal extension. The core includes at least one scattering element that changes a propagation direction of the light guided in the core. The light guide having a lateral surface with a light-blocking coating at least partially or in portions thereof. The light-blocking coating being structured so that the light guide has a light-transmissive portion extending along the longitudinal extension and so that the light scattered on the at least one scattering element and striking the light-transmissive portion is able to escape from the light guide, at least partially. The coating having a light transmittance that is lower than a light transmittance of the light-transmissive portion.

Linear light source

A luminous glazing is provided that includes a pane and a light guide. The pane has two opposite faces and is transparent in the visible spectrum. The light guide has a core surrounded by a cladding so that the core is capable of guiding light along the longitudinal extension of the light guide. The light guide includes a light scattering element so that when light is injected into one of the end faces if the light guide, the light guide is a side-emitting light guide and forms a linear light source. The light guide extends along the faces and is disposed on one face such that the light scattering area is spaced apart from the face and so that light guided in the core, scattered, and laterally exiting from the light guide enters the transparent pane through the face and is be transmitted through the pane to the opposite face.

A lighting device having a side-emitting fiber bundle is provided. The fiber bundle is inserted in a sleeve that has an extension, which is effective as a light mixer.

A cooking apparatus with a cooktop composed of a glass or glass-ceramic material is provided. The cooking apparatus includes a heating element and a lighting element that are disposed in the region below the underside of the cooktop. The heating element is applied to the underside of the cooktop indirectly by a pressing device or directly by pre-stressing one or a plurality of spring elements. The lighting element and the heating element are disposed on a common support section of the pressing device in such a way that they are adjustable with an oscillation of the cooktop.

Cooking apparatus having lighting elements

An LED lighting device for connection to an AC voltage source is provided. The lighting device includes at least a first and a second set of LEDs, at least two LEDs assigned to the first set of LEDs and electrically arranged in series, and at least two LEDs assigned to the second set of LEDs and electrically arranged in series, a connector configured to connect the LED lighting device to the AC voltage source, and a set activator. LED lighting device

Lighting equipment for generating white light from blue or violet excitation light and converted emitted yellow light is provided. The excitation light is directed at an oblique angle towards a converter that is attached to a carrier device, without the emitted illumination light impinging on the carrier device.

An arrangement for generating white light is provided. The arrangement generates the white light by combining blue light and yellow light. The yellow light originates from a converter which transforms into yellow light virtually all blue light that enters the converter.

Generation of white light

An illumination device for generating white light is provided. The device includes a converter and a filter. The converter has a Ce:YAG ceramic, which converts blue excitation light into yellow light of a color location near the white point in the chromaticity diagram. The filter attenuates a light fraction below 530 nm so as to obtain the white light.

White light illumination device

A device for generating white light is provided that includes at least one light source and at least one conversion medium. The light source emits light in the blue and/or ultraviolet spectral range. The light from the light source is generated by a laser and the light from the light source is focused by an optical system onto the conversion medium. The conversion medium converts at least part of the incident light into a different spectral range.

Method for producing optoelectronic components, and products produced thereby

The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of packaged components. The invention is based here on the problem of facilitating the application of covers with lateral dimensions that are smaller than the lateral dimensions of the functional substrate. For this purpose, a plate-like cover substrate is mounted on a carrier substrate. Then, on the uncovered side of the plate-like cover substrate, trenches are inserted, so that a composite part is obtained with the carrier substrate and individual covering parts that are separated from each other by the trenches, but interconnected by the carrier substrate. The covering parts of the composite part are connected with a functional substrate with a plurality of components. Then, the connection of the covering parts is dissolved with the carrier substrate, and the carrier substrate is removed, so that a composite is obtained with the functional substrate and a plurality of covering parts that cover functional areas.
