A door closer housing includes a mounting bracket having a L-shaped cross section, a first leg mountable on a supporting surface, and a second leg connected to the first leg and extending perpendicularly therefrom. The door closer also includes a cover mountable on the mounting bracket to form a housing for accommodating a door closer mechanism, the housing having two opposite open ends, the cover having a U-shaped cross section. When each end cap is mounted onto one of the open ends of the housing, the end wall of said each end cap faces an outside of the housing, and the cover extends into a plane of the end wall of said each end cap.

There is now provided a swinging door with a door closer having a slide rail at the door frame with a suspension system for adjusting the height of the slide rail with respect to the door frame. The suspension system comprises a height adjustment device, which comprises a threaded sleeve ( ) that has a first female thread ( ) and a threaded bush ( ) that has a male thread ( ). An electromechanical locking mechanism for door leaves whose holding force can be adjusted continuously and which at the same time offers the possibility, when the locking mechanism is energized, of also releasing the closed door from and returning it to the locked position.

A door closer being affixable to a door for closing the door. A channel having a slide therein for engaging with a detent also in the channel for holding the door open. The slide is connected to an arm of the door closer which arm moves the slide along the channel into contact with the detent which holds the door open once the detent and the slide have engaged with one another.
