A motor vehicle door lock with mechanical lock elements in a lock unit, the door lock includes a lock mechanism with several interacting elements in a control unit which is arranged at a location that is spatially separate from the lock unit in or on a motor vehicle door or hatch. The lock unit is connected to the control unit by a remote power transmission in the form of a Bowden cable, and the lock element in the lock unit can be mechanically actuated from an element of the lock mechanism in the control unit by the remote power transmission. In the lock unit, there is at least one component which is to be supplied with electricity to be triggered and/or to be interrogated, the at least one component is electrically connected by an electrical connecting element to lock electronics in the control unit, and the electrical connecting element is integrated into or combined with the mechanical power transmission.

Motor vehicle door lock with a lock unit and a control unit which are separate from one another

A motor vehicle door lock system with a vehicle lock, which can be locked and unlocked by a motor, includes a lock element which can be moved between a locked position and an unlocked position, and a central interlock drive with a slow-running drive element with which the lock element can be moved, with control electronics with a passive entry function, a speed unlocking element and a remote control module for the operator. The motor vehicle door lock system includes a clutch which engages only with a minimum rpm, which ensures that the lock element can be easily moved by hand with the central interlock drive stationary. The speed unlocking element is assigned to the central interlock drive on this side of the clutch and can be immediately actuated by the central interlock drive upon starting. The speed unlocking element immediately moves the lock element or an element of the lock mechanism downstream of it, the central interlock drive follows up, with the clutch engaged, more slowly into the unlocked position or via the unlocked position in to the next rest position when actuated out of the locked position into the unlocked position.

Motor-vehicle door locking system with quick unlocking

A motor vehicle door lock with mechanical lock elements in a lock unit, with a lock mechanism, with several interacting elements in a control unit which is separated from the lock unit, optionally with lock electronics in the control unit , and the lock unit being arranged spatially separate from the control unit in or on a motor vehicle door or hatch, the lock unit being connected to the control unit by a remote power transmission, and the lock element in the lock unit, by the remote power transmission, is mechanically actuated from an element of the lock mechanism in the control unit. Reaching of the locked position or the main catch position of the lock latch is mechanically signaled to the control unit by the drawing function of the remote power transmission.

Motor vehicle door lock with a lock unit and a control unit which are separated from one another

A motor vehicle lock for the door of a motor vehicle which can be locked from the outside, preferably with a key and locking cylinder. The lock mechanism includes a force application element which is preferably a cylindrical nut that can be turned around an axis of rotation, and includes a measurement system for detecting the position of the nut. The measurement system can have at least one stationary sensor and at least one measurement element which is dynamically coupled to the nut of the lock and is located in the measurement range of the sensor in order to detect the position of the nut. The measurement element is located directly on the outside cylindrical surface of the nut while at the same time is made as a component which is separate from the nut of the lock.

Motor vehicle lock

An access- and starting/driving-authorization system for a motor vehicle, having a portable transponder and a control unit accomodated in the motor vehicle, in order to control the smart master-key system and the engine control unit. In inquiry/response dialogs, the transponder and the control unit enabling or blocking access to the motor vehicle, and the starting and driving of the motor vehicle, using sets of code information that are matched to each other. Starting and driving the motor vehicle after forcibly entering the motor vehicle and replacing the engine control unit, including a vehicle immobilizer and a transponder of the control units relevant for starting and driving, is prevented in that the enabling of the motor-vehicle to be started and driven, after a successful starting/driving-authorization inquiry/response dialog, is rendered dependent on a preceding, successful access-authorization inquiry/response dialog.

Access and start/drive authorization system

A motor vehicle door lock or the like including a housing with a lock latch and a detent pawl located therein, an electrical opening aid for electrical actuation of the detent pawl in a normal state, a lock mechanism for mechanical actuation of the detent pawl in a special state, remotely controllable control electronics for remote operation of the door lock, a chain of force exerting components that runs from an outside door handle into the lock mechanism, and a plurality of electrical sensors assigned to the chain of force exerting components in the lock mechanism, the plurality of electrical sensors being adapted to trigger the switching functions of the control electronics and the opening aid.

A vehicle security arrangement includes at least one functional control unit, which provides a first code word; a theft protection control unit, which is coupled via a bus to the at least one functional control unit; and at least one input unit, which transmits to the theft protection control unit a second code word which the theft protection control unit forwards to the at least one function control unit. The theft protection control unit may initiate the provision of the first code word and the second code word. In the at least one functional control unit, a comparison of the first code word of the at least one functional control unit with the second code word takes place. A motor vehicle door lock system including a vehicle lock adapted to be locked and unlocked, a lock element adapted to be moved between a locked position and an unlocked position for locking and unlocking respectively the vehicle lock, a central interlock drive having a slow running drive element for moving the lock element, a remote control module, control electronics with a passive entry function to at least passively unlock the vehicle lock, and a high-speed electromagnetic drive for rapidly moving the lock element from the locked position to the unlocked position to thereby unlock the vehicle lock quicker than by operating the drive element. The passive unlocking of the vehicle lock occurs over time requiring a reaction phase with a starting interval, an authorization check interval, and an action interval, the starting interval being initiated by an operator. The high-speed electromagnetic drive is immediately activated at start of the action interval, and subsequent to the activation, the central interlock drive is operated to move the slow running drive element to a position corresponding to the unlocked position of the lock element.

Motor vehicle door lock system with passive entry function and high-speed unlocking

A lock for doors of motor vehicles or the like includes a lock catch component mounted for movement between an initial open position and a fully closed position through an intermediate position and includes preliminary and a final abutment. A lock latch component is mounted for displacement between an arresting position and a releasing position in which it engages and disengages one of the preliminary and final abutment of the lock catch component to hold the latter in and release the same for movement out of the intermediate and fully closed position, respectively. An electrically powered auxiliary opening drive is designed to cause the lock latch component to disengage the one of the abutments of the lock catch component to release the latter for movement toward the initial open position. An electrically powered auxiliary closing drive is provided to move the lock catch component from its intermediate into its fully closed position and includes a step-down transmission that is connected with the lock latch component via a driving element and a coupling interposed between the driving element and the lock latch component. The auxiliary closing drive is designed to also be able to act on the lock latch component when necessary. A control device first determines the occurrence of an emergency situation involving the action on the lock catch component of excessive forces making it necessary to employ the auxiliary closing drive to accomplish the disengagement, and then operates the auxiliary closing drive in such a manner after a demand for opening the lock has been issued in the emergency situation that it acts to disengage the lock latch component from the lock catch component.

Electrically operated lock for doors of motor vehicles or the like

The subject matter of the invention is a motor vehicle door lock or the like with a lock latch ( ) and a detent pawl which keeps the lock latch in the main catch and the preliminary catch, with an electrical auxiliary closing drive ( ) which is turned on after the lock latch ( ) has reached a preclosing position and then transfers the lock latch ( ) by motor into the main closing position, and with an electric auxiliary opening drive ( ) which is turned on to raise the detent pawl ( ) off the main catch or the preliminary catch of the lock latch ( ). This door lock is characterized in that the coupling of the auxiliary closing drive ( ) has a mechanical coupling element ( ) which can be raised for decoupling and which can be raised by a correspondingly controlled actuation of the electrical auxiliary opening drive ( ). One version is especially important in which power supply to the electrical auxiliary opening drive ( ) takes place via the extra battery ( ) which is always recharged from the vehicle electrical system ( ) (active electrical redundancy), but power supply of the electrical auxiliary closing drive ( ) takes place directly from the vehicle electrical system ( ).

The subject matter of the invention is a motor vehicle closing device with a positioning element ( ) which turns around one axis of rotation ( ) or which moves linearly along one lengthwise axis and which has a position which is to be ascertained, and with a position detection means ( ) which works without contact and which is located on the path of motion of the positioning element ( ) (or on the positioning element itself). The subject of the invention is a key collar for a motor vehicle door lock or the like including a key collar support plate fixedly attached on a support sheet, and a collar element supported on the collar support plate which, in operation, engages a lock catch of the motor vehicle door lock or the like. Optionally, the key collar includes an elastomer arrangement which allows the collar element to move a limited distance relative to the collar support plate in the plane of the collar support plate thereby better meeting the different requirements of normal use conditions and during a vehicle crash. In operation, the collar element of a preferred embodiment is supported on the collar support plate on two spaced bearing points, one bearing point with a trailing bridge in a manner that collar element can be swivelled around an axis which is perpendicular to collar support plate, and another bearing point with a leading bridge which can be displaced in corresponding arc-shaped crank.

A device for locking and unlocking a door, in particular a motor vehicle door, has an electric lock and a door handle, with the transmission of query information to a portable electronic authorization ID means being initiatable via a control unit provided for the door when the door handle is operated out of the resting position in opposite directions, with the authorization ID means causing the transmission of identification information on receipt of the query information, and with the control unit comparing the identification information received with predetermined authorized identification information and, if it agrees with some of the predefined identification information, the locking of the door or its unlocking with the release of the catch is executed or canceled by controlling the electric lock. The operating reliability of the system is greatly increased with simple handling due to the fact that the door handle can be swivelled up and down about a horizontal swiveling axis in a handle recess in the door, and it can be reset automatically into the starting center position again by spring elements after the door handle is released, and electric switches can be actuated in the switch positions of the door handle, initiating the identification and the locking procedure as well as the identification and the unlocking procedure.

Device for locking and unlocking a door, in particular a motor vehicle door

A motor vehicle door lock or the like has a housing (,) or a lock bearing plate, a rotary latch (,) with a jaw (,) for a locking wedge (,) or lock bolt and a pawl (,) for locking the rotary latch (,) in a locking position which corresponds to the closed motor vehicle door. The invention relates to a circuit for controlling an electrically activated motor vehicle door lock or the like, with a lock latch (,) and a detent pawl (,) which keeps the lock latch (,) in the closed position and with an electric motorized auxiliary closing drive (,) which is turned on after the lock latch (,) has reached a preclosing position and then moves the lock latch (,) by motor into the main closing position, there being a switch (,) which recognizes the preclosing position, especially a lock latch switch which scans the position of the lock latch (,). This applies especially when the criterion for shutting off the auxiliary closing drive (,), when the closed position is reached, especially when the overstroke position of the lock latch (,) which is somewhat on the other side of the closed position is reached, is the power consumption of the auxiliary closing drive (,).
