Exterior rearview mirror for vehicles, preferably for motor vehicles. The exterior rearview mirror has a mirror base with a bracket. Supported on the mirror base is a mirror head with a bracket that can be folded about one axis in the direction of travel and one axis opposite the direction of travel. In order to design the exterior rearview mirror to ensure foldability of the mirror head in a simple manner, the brackets on the mirror-head side and mirror-base side are each equipped with joint parts that are detachably connected to one another to form the two pivot/fold axes for the mirror head. As a result, the exterior rearview mirror is economical to manufacture and also to assemble. Due to the small number of components and its lack of susceptibility to problems, the exterior rearview mirror is especially suitable for use in motor vehicles.

Exterior rearview mirror for vehicles, preferably for motor vehicles

An external rear view mirror for vehicles includes a mirror head the is fixedly secured to the vehicle. A housing defines an opening and a housing rear wall. The housing rear wall defines a recess that extends along a portion thereof. A turn-signal lamp, designed to generate light, is fixedly secured to the housing rear wall. The turn-signal lamp extends into the recess. The turn-signal lamp includes a light lens that covers the turn-signal lamp. The light lens has an outside surface. The external rear view mirror also includes an optical waveguide that guides the light generated by the turn-signal lamp around the mirror head, whereby the optical waveguide is fixedly secured to the light lens.

An exterior rearview mirror for a motor vehicle has a mirror head having a housing and a mirror pane mounted in the housing. The housing has a light window. At least one light source is mounted in the housing and positioned behind the light window. The light window consists at least partially of a light guide material in order to ensure complete and uniform illumination.

A housing is provided that has a receiving body for at least one optical sensing device and at least one hollow and air-tight window body for allowing passage of signals to and from the sensing device. The hollow and air-tight window body eliminates condensation on the window through which the signals of the sensing device have to pass and thus improves operation of the sensing device.

An exterior rearview mirror for motor vehicles has a housing and a mirror pane pivotably supported in the housing. A light source is mounted in the housing. The housing has an outlet opening through which light emitted by the light source exits the housing. An exterior rearview mirror for a motor vehicle has a mirror support and a mirror housing connected with a first end to the mirror support. The mirror housing has a holder for a mirror pane. A turn signal light is positioned in the mirror housing. At least one first receiver for receiving remote control signals is also positioned within the mirror housing.

An interior rearview mirror for a motorized vehicle has a mirror housing with a mirror member and a mirror support connected to the mirror housing. At least one sensor for sensing solar radiation entering the interior of the motorized vehicle through the windshield is provided. The sensor is coupled to the control unit of an air conditioning device of the motorized vehicle.

A distance sensing device for a motor vehicle, positioned at the rear of the motor vehicle, for sensing a distance to an obstacle to the rear of the motor vehicle, has a brake light unit positioned in the interior of the motor vehicle at the rear window. At least one sensor for sensing the distance is provided. An optical display unit located within the brake light unit is provided, and the at least one sensor is connected to the optical display unit.
