A separating device for separating a mixture of magnetizable and non-magnetizable particles contained in a suspension that is conducted in a separating channel is provided, the separating device including a laminated, ferromagnetic yoke arranged to one side of the separating channel, e.g., a yoke made of iron, having at least one magnetic field generating means for generating a magnetic deflecting field and a separating element arranged at the outlet of the separating channel for separating the magnetic particles, wherein the magnetic field generating means is a coil assembly including coils equidistantly arranged in grooves of the yoke along the separating channel and which can be actuated via a control device such that a temporally variable deflecting magnetic field, substantially deflecting toward the yoke, e.g., a traveling wave, is generated, having substantially field-free regions passing over the entire length of the separating channel.

Separating device for separating a mixture

In order to determine contact erosion of an electromagnetic switching device, a mechanical parameter is measured which characterizes the time course of the relative movement between the contacts, said movement being caused by an actuator. The point in time when the contacts close is determined by evaluating the time course of the relative movement, and the distance traveled by the contact/s until said point in time or the distance traveled by the actuator from said point in time until reaching the final position thereof is detected at least indirectly and is compared to a stored reference value.

An electromagnetic drive unit is disclosed, including a yoke and a movable armature. In at least one embodiment, the yoke and the armature have a matched shape so that, when the electromagnetic drive unit is activated, the armature is adapted to at least partially cross the yoke. An electromechanical switching device is also disclosed.

Electromagnetic drive unit and an electromechanical switching device

An electromechanical switching device, especially a contactor or a multifunctional device including a contactor, includes at least one stationary contact piece, at least one movable contact piece movable to and from the at least one stationary contact piece for opening or closing a current path and an electromagnetic drive unit including a yoke and a coil and a movable armature. In at least one embodiment, the electromagnetic drive unit is adapted to displace the movable contact piece in response to a voltage applied to the coil. The at least one movable contact piece and the at least one stationary contact piece are adapted to limit movement of the armature after activation of the electromagnetic drive unit.

In breaker devices an early short-circuit recognition is required and also a tripping of the contacts. The recognition of a short-circuit occurs so early that with consideration of the response time of the measuring probes and the unlocking mechanism by a suitable analysis algorithm the release of the movable contact occurs before or at least at the time that the current-breaking forces correspond to the contact force. The contact force is hence compensated for and a rapid opening of the contacts can be achieved.

Breaker device for low-voltage applications

An electromagnetic switching device is disclosed with an electromagnet and a movable magnet armature, which is mounted in the switching device with a resetting force, which counteracts the closing force, is different than zero in an OPEN position and is formed at least partially by a magnet arrangement with at least one permanent magnet. The magnet arrangement is arranged fixed in position in the switching device outside the magnetic circuit formed from the electromagnet and the magnet armature, and whose resetting force, which acts on the magnet armature, is at a maximum in the OPEN position.
