The invention relates to a pump device for high pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines including a pump housing. The pump housing includes a number of pump elements, in which high pressure is exerted on fuel. The fuel that is acted on with high pressure is delivered by the individual pump elements to a common high pressure connecting bore by use of a high pressure conduit system. In order to reduce stress in the bores the high pressure conduit system includes a number of high pressure conduits which communicate with the pump elements and are disposed in a plane different from that of the common high pressure connecting bore in which the high pressure conduits come together at the connecting bore. Through the disposition of the common high pressure connecting bore in a plane different from that of the high pressure conduits, the high pressure conduits can intersect with the high pressure connecting bore in an eccentric fashion.

Pump system for supplying fuel at high pressure

A radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, which includes a common rail injection system. The system includes a drive shaft that is supported in a pump housing and is embodied eccentrically for driving a number of pistons that are disposed radially in respective cylinder chambers into a reciprocating motion in the radial direction in the cylinder chambers upon rotation of the drive shaft. For each piston, a metallic housing part which constitutes the respective cylinder chamber is provided with a fuel intake opening and a fuel outlet opening which are controlled by intake and outlet valves. In order to uncouple the high-pressure sealing points from one another and to respectively define them in a statically exact fashion, the pump is embodied so that the housing part rests with a flat contact surface against a flat contact surface of the metallic housing base body. A projecting section of the housing part is oriented toward the drive shaft and extends through a radial opening of the housing base body in the direction toward the drive shaft. A fuel outlet opening discharges into the flat contact surface and is flush with a second outlet opening in the housing base body. A metallic high-pressure sealing element is provided in a widened mouth region of the fuel outlet opening in the housing part. The metallic high-pressure sealing element is tightened against the housing base body by way of screws in such a way that the high-pressure side is sealed through the clamping of the high-pressure sealing element.

High pressure seal means for a radial piston pump

The invention relates to a radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel supply in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, in particular in a common rail injection system. The piston pump has a drive shaft which is eccentrically supported in a pump housing and on which a ring is slidingly supported. The ring cooperates with a plurality of pistons, disposed radially relative to the drive shaft in a respective cylinder chamber. The pistons are movable radially back and forth in the respective cylinder chamber by rotation of the drive shaft. To increase the efficiency of the engine, the cylinder chambers are filled with less fuel when demand drops. In this so-called partial element filling, in which a plate is retained in contact with a polygonal ring, increased wear and damage are prevented. The wear is brought about by a guide device which prevents rotation of the ring about its own axis.

Radial piston pump for high pressure fuel supply

A radial piston pump for a high-pressure fuel supply in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, in particular in a common rail injection system, having a drive shaft which is supported in a pump housing and is embodied eccentrically or has cam-like protrusions in the circumferential direction. A plurality of pistons are disposed radially in given cylinder chambers relative to the drive shaft (,), and the pistons are movable radially back and forth in the respective cylinder chamber by rotation of the drive shaft. In carrying out the invention, a transverse force absorbing device is disposed between each piston and the drive shaft. This has the advantage that only forces in the longitudinal direction are brought to bear on the pistons. This means that virtually no moments act on the pistons.

Radial piston pump for feeding high-pressure fuel supply

The invention relates to a radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, in particular in a common rail injection system, having a housing, a drive shaft that is supported in the pump housing and has an eccentrically embodied shaft segment. A ring is slidingly supported on the shaft segment and cooperates with a plurality of pistons. The pistons are disposed radially with respect to the drive shaft in a respective cylinder chamber. Ends of the pistons oriented toward the drive shaft each have a respective plate. To improve engine efficiency, the cylinder chambers are filled with less fuel as the demand drops, this prevents increased wear and damage from occurring during operation. The problem of wear and damage is solved in that all the plates are kept in contact with the ring by a leaf-spring-like device, in particular a single clamp. In a radial piston pump in which a plate is held by a plate holder, the plate holder is secured to the ring.

Radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery

A radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, particularly in a common rail injection system. A drive shaft is supported in a pump housing and is embodied as eccentric or has cam-like projections in the circumference direction. A number of pistons are each disposed in a respective element bore and are situated radially in relation to the drive shaft. The pistons can be set into a reciprocating motion in the radial direction inside the respective element bore through the rotation of the drive shaft in order to aspirate fuel by way of an intake conduit in which an intake valve is disposed. The fuel is aspirated into a cylinder chamber that is defined by the piston in the element bore and is connected to a high-pressure conduit in which a high-pressure valve is disposed. The element bore is disposed together with the intake conduit and the high-pressure conduit in an element head. The embodiment of the element bore as a blind hole from which the intake conduit and the high-pressure conduit lead achieves a reduction of the high-pressure sealing points.
