The invention relates to a method for displaying a notification for a user in which first image data associated with the notification is displayed on a display unit in a normal display mode. The method also includes displaying second image data associated with the notification on the display unit in a safety display mode as soon as a predetermined fault condition is satisfied in the normal display mode. The predetermined fault condition being satisfied is checked by comparing a current display of the first image data by the display unit in the normal display mode, with respect to a presence of image faults, with a reference display of the first image data by the display unit in the normal display mode. The current display and the reference display are subdivided into regions and/or pixels for the comparison, said regions and/or pixels being associated with classes as background, foreground, image edge and/or irrelevant. Color value intervals and/or color value thresholds are set for each class based on an RGB scheme. A position within or outside of the color value intervals and/or color thresholds is established for each region and/or for each pixel and for each class, and an image fault is identified in response to a position being established outside of the color value intervals and/or color value thresholds, where regions and/or pixels that are classified as irrelevant are excluded from said comparing.

Method and device for displaying a notification for a user and working device

A method for starting lasers in a network is provided. According to the method, a restart phase in automatic mode is initiated after the laser is disconnected. During the restart phase in automatic mode, which is accompanied by a delay time for the new laser connection, the automatic mode is switched to a different mode in which the new connection of the laser takes place faster than in automatic mode. This can be achieved by switching to manual mode as per ITU-T G.664. Furthermore, safety measures are defined before activating switching from the network management or a network element control so that safety is ensured during the fast, new connection of the laser.

An optical communication network, an optical information transmission method and network node devices for use in an optical communication network, in which optical signals are exchanged via a first data link between a first network node device and a second network node device with interposition of a number of further interconnected network node devices, in which, after a disturbance on the first data link, a third network node device sends a signaling signal to a fourth network node device connected to the third network node device for setting up a second data link which acts at least partially as a standby for the first data link, which signaling signal contains a parameter (NRR, n) determined by the third network node device on the basis of which it is determined whether the fourth network node device is responsible for setting up the second data link or not.

Device and method for restoring connections in automatically switchable optical networks

In order to set up a bidirectional connection path in an optical transmission system composed of a number of switched optical network nodes having a number of unidirectional terminating units, in which each unidirectional terminating unit of a network node is connected to a unidirectional terminating unit of a further network node via a unidirectional connection path section, an adaptation layer is provided via which at least two unidirectional terminating units of an optical network node which have opposite transmission directions are combined to form one bidirectional terminating unit and addressed together. As a result, the setting up of the bidirectional connection paths is improved in a particularly advantageous way in terms of the duration and the signaling complexity.

A clock and data regenerator for different data rates including a control loop which is controlled by a phase discriminator (PD) and two frequency discriminators. The first frequency discriminator enlarges the catchment range of the control loop. The second frequency discriminator determines the ratio of the bit rates of the clock signal and of the data signal. The second frequency discriminator sets the loop frequency divider appropriately, and supplies a control voltage for setting the oscillator until the first frequency discriminator can carry out this function.

For transmitting received signals from an antenna (A) to a base station (BS) of a radio system, optical signals, which are transmitted to the base station (BS) via a light guide (L), are generated in an antenna unit (AE) connected to the antenna (A). An optical carrier is generated in the base station (BS) and is fed to the antenna unit (AE). There, the optical carrier is modulated, using an electro-optical modulator (EO), in a way corresponding to the received signals coming from the antenna (A) and is transmitted to the base station (BS) via a light guide (L). The present invention dispenses with the need for dedicated lasers in the antenna units (AE).
