A method is disclosed for determining result data based upon medical measurement data of an examination object. Within the method, a high-dimensional first parameter space is formed, in which measurement values of the various measurements are represented with the aid of value tuples. The measurement values of the various measurements are assigned to a value tuple based on their spatial arrangement in the examination object and/or on their temporal arrangement relative to one another. In the first parameter space, the value tuples are analyzed, using at least one mapping function to at least one further parameter space including a lower dimension than the first parameter space, in order to obtain result data. Furthermore, the result data is output, preferably visualized. In addition, a corresponding device for determining result data is described.

In a method and system for planning irradiation of a patient for therapy, a first time series acquired from computed tomography scan data of the patient is provided to a processor, as is a second time series acquired from magnetic resonance scan data of the patient. A first parameter that characterizes the first time series is acquired, as is a second parameter that characterizes the second time series. The first time series and the second time series are combined in the processor using the first parameter and the second parameter. An irradiation plan is calculated in the processor using the combined first time series and second time series.

Method for planning irradiation of a patient for radiation therapy

In a quality control method and computer for planning radiotherapy of patient, magnetic resonance (MR) image data, acquired from a planning volume of a patient, are provided to a computer and are used in the computer to generate a first electron density map of the planning volume. A second electron density map is generated using the first electron density map, wherein a value of electron density for a bone region in the planning volume is reduced compared to the first electron density map. First and second radiation dose distributions in the planning volume are respectively determined from the radiotherapy plan and the first electron density map, and the radiotherapy plan and the second electron density map. These distributions are compared in order to generate output information.

Method and magnetic resonance apparatus for quality control in planning radiotherapy of a patient

A radiation planning system includes a dose volume kernel determiner () and an expected absorbed dose determiner (). The dose volume kernel determiner () generates a dose volume kernel for each of a plurality of voxels in a dose calculation grid. Each of the dose volume kernels is based on a radial dose distribution and a template function for a particular voxel size. The expected absorbed dose determiner () determines an expected absorbed dose distribution for each of the plurality of voxels based on the dose volume kernel.

An irradiation plan for a particle irradiation unit is determined in a first run based on a specified target volume in a test object and a specified dose distribution to apply the particle beam in the target volume. The target volume includes a plurality of isoenergy layers. The irradiation plan may be determined in a second run with an additional condition that at least one of the isoenergy layers, determined according to one or more criteria, is not irradiated. Alternatively, the irradiation plan may be determined in a second run with an additional condition that only certain isoenergy layers, determined according to one or more criteria, are irradiated.

An apparatus for generating assignments between image regions of an image of an object and element classes includes an assigning unit () for assigning element classes to image regions of an element image of the object, which is indicative of a distribution of the element classes, depending on region and/or boundary features, which are determined depending on image values of a provided object image and provided first preliminary assignments. The invention relates to an apparatus for generating an attenuation correction map. An image providing unit () provides an image of an object comprising different element classes and a segmentation unit () applies a segmentation to the image for generating a segmented image comprising image regions corresponding to the element classes. The segmentation is based on at least one of a watershed segmentation and a body contour segmentation based on a contiguous skin and fat layers in the image. A feature determination unit () determines features of at least one of a) the image regions and b) boundaries between the image regions depending on image values of the image and an assigning unit () assigns attenuation values to the image regions based on the determined features for generating the attenuation correction map. The performed image processing steps can allow for producing a high quality attenuation correction map, even if the initial image does not comprise image values related to the attenuation of radiation like a CT image.

A method includes obtaining an image of a region of interest of a subject, wherein the image is generated with image data produced by an imaging system used to scan the subject, obtaining a signal indicative of a physiological state of the subject before the scan, and displaying both the image and data indicative of the physiological state. Radiological imaging incorporating local motion monitoring, correction, and assessment

A new aspect of the invention is that the degree of bone marrow depression of the patient is related to the count of immature blood platelets, which are measured before each treatment. Some embodiments of the invention provide an advantage allowing reducing the level of uncertainty in the prediction of the risk of bone marrow depression, and thus enabling to safely improve the therapy effect by an increase of the radiation dosage and/or chemical dosage to the individual patient while the risk for bone marrow depression is minimized.
