Retrofit lighting device with improved thermal properties

An LED lamp includes a lamp base for insertion into a reflector of an automotive front lighting assembly; a panel extending from the lamp base with a first vertical side facing into one half of the reflector and a second vertical side facing into the other half of the reflector; a primary light source including a set of LED dies on each vertical side of the panel; a two-part shield including a first shield half shielding the LED dies on the first vertical side of the panel and a second shield half shielding the LED dies on the second vertical side of the panel. The two-part shield essentially has the form of a shield in a functionally equivalent filament lamp for providing a low beam. A lighting arrangement includes such an LED lamp; a reflector to receive the lamp; and an electrical interface for connecting to a controller.

LED lamp

The invention relates to a headlight for a vehicle, comprising a concave reflector and a lamp arranged within the reflector to reflect light from the lamp to create an illumination beam with a bright/dark boundary. The lamp comprises a transparent vessel including a longitudinal axis, at least a first and second filament arranged within the vessel. A baffle arranged proximate to the first filament, and comprising first and second upper side edges. The first filament is arranged above a plane including the upper side edges. A different plane is through the center of the first filament and is arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The upper side edges are arranged symmetrically to a baffle symmetry axis extending from the center of the first filament centrally between the upper side edges. The lamp is arranged within the reflector rotated around said longitudinal axis by a rotation angle of 2&#xb0;-20&#xb0;.

A lamp for automotive vehicle front lighting is described. The lampcomprises a basefor mechanical and electrical connection to an automotive headlightand a burnerfixed to the base. The burnercomprises an enclosed transparent vessel. A first and a second filamentare arranged within the vessel. A baffleis arranged proximate to the first filamentto shield the second filamentfrom the first filament. When the first filamentis operated at a supply voltage of 13.2 V at an electrical power greater than 35 W and less than or equal to 38 W, light with a luminous flux of 500-700 lm is emitted from the lamp. If the second filamentis operated at a supply voltage of 13.2 V at an electrical power greater than 35 W and less than or equal to 38 W, light with a luminous flux of 800-1,000 lm is emitted from the lamp. Both the first and the second filament wireare comprised of a filament wire wound in a winding structure around a filament axis, where the number of winding turns for each of first and second filamentsis 16-23.

Double-filament incandescent lamp for automotive vehicle front lighting

A lamp for automotive vehicle front lighting is described. The lampcomprises a basefor mechanical and electrical connection to an automotive headlightand a burnerfixed to the base. The burnercomprises an enclosed transparent vessel. A first and a second filamentare arranged within the vessel. A baffleis arranged proximate to the first filamentto shield the second filamentfrom the first filament. The baffleis of concave shape and includes a bottom surfaceand side surfacesterminating in side edges. The bafflefurther includes a front surfacearranged between the first and second filamentsto shield the second filamentfrom light emitted from the first filament. The side edgeseach comprise a central portionextending, in side view, straight and in parallel to the longitudinal axis X. The straight central portionshave an axial length of at least 3.5 mm. An edge height His defined as a distance between the bottom surfaceand the plane defined between the central portionsof the side edges. The edge height is more than 2.8 mm.

Automotive front lighting lamp with baffle

It is provided a lamp, particularly halogen lamp, for a headlight of a motor vehicle, comprising a light source () for emitting mainly white light, a mainly transparent envelope () encapsulating the light source () and a filter element () provided at the envelope (), wherein the filter element () is adapted for deflecting visible light of a predefined wavelength interval such, that mainly blue light can be provided above a bright/dark-cutoff (). Since the deflected bluish light is above the bright/dark-cutoff () an oncoming driver recognizes earlier the light. At the same time the oncoming driver is not blinded by the blue light above the bright/dark-cutoff (), since not the whole emitted light () but only a smaller wavelength interval is directed above the bright/dark-cutoff ().
