A Storage compartment, in particular a glove compartment, for a motor vehicle is provided. The storage compartment includes a compartment housing which has at least two sections, which are arranged one above the other and are separated from one another by a transverse wall, and a compartment opening on the front side allowing access to the sections. For the purpose, with little technical outlay, of sufficiently illuminating the sections lying one above the other, a downwardly shining lamp is arranged in the vicinity of the compartment opening in such a manner on the upper, transversely extending housing wall and at least one reflector is arranged in such a manner on the inside of the flap that in the swung-down position of the flap light from the lamp which impinges on the reflector is reflected into the depth of at least one lower section.

Storage compartment for vehicles

A tunnel covering for a motor vehicle has a supporting structure in which at least one receiving space is provided, and at least one approximately vertically extending longitudinal wall. At least one lateral wall element is mounted on the integrally constructed supporting structure. The lateral wall element is assigned to the longitudinal wall of the supporting structure and which, at least in sections together with the lateral wall, bounds one or several hollow spaces.

Tunnel covering for a motor vehicle

A damping device is provided for a part that is pivotable between two end positions, with a viscous brake for delaying the pivoting movement. The brake has a brake wheel and a drive member that engages the wheel at a tangent. The wheel and drive member move apart from one another when the part is pivoted, thus causing rotation of the brake wheel. One of the brake wheel and the drive member is in a fixed location and the other is on a lever that is articulated to the part. The articulation point is set so that the displacement travel of the lever within a constant pivot angle of the part increases with the path of the part as it pivots from its first to its second end position with consequent progressive damping characteristics.

An automobile center console has an associated armrest with a lifting and transverse shifting mechanism that exerts on the armrest a combination of a lifting movement and a transverse displacement toward one of the two front seats. The lifting and transverse shifting mechanism is located on a guide carriage that is linearly movable by a linear guide device along the center console in the lengthwise direction of the vehicle.

A vehicle ashtray has a housing fastenable to a vehicle, an ashtray drawer movable under the action of a spring force from a close basic position to an open end position, and a stop member arranged so that said ashtray drawer remains in a half-open position and is movable to said open end position only after overcoming a resistance.

Pull-out sliding unit for installation in a motor vehicle has a sliding unit that can be pulled out like a drawer, which may, for example, be constructed as a drinks holder or as a tray surface, provided for installation in a fascia of a motor vehicle. In order to be able to remove the sliding unit easily from the device and exchange it, a sliding block engages the sliding unit and disengages by two wedges onto which the sliding block slides when the sliding unit, after being unlocked, is pulled out of the device beyond its open position.

A holder for drink containers in a motor vehicle has a slider member that can be pulled out and on which are mounted pivot arms which, when pulled out, pivot laterally outward, and which, with cut-away portions in the slider member, form insertion openings for drink containers, and has supports which pivot downwards when the slider member is pulled out. In order to support securely drink containers of different sizes which are inserted, the supports are pivoted outward, forcibly controlled, by the pivot arms through half the pivot angle of the pivot arms.
