The Power Supply Unit comprises an output providing electrical power between a positive power supply line and a common ground line and a communication line. An adjustable current generator responsive to an internal measurement signal generates an output current at the output, and a voltage source is coupled to the communication line. A current measurement unit measures a current through the communication line and generates the internal measurement signal depending on the measured current through the communication line. Specifically, the Power Supply Unit is configured to determine the voltage drop on the common ground line by applying via the voltage source two different voltages to the communication line.

Various embodiments may relate to a synchronous rectifier including at least one rectifier cell, to which power is supplied via a secondary winding of a transformer arranged between the input connections of the synchronous rectifier. The rectifier cell comprises a bipolar main switch operated in the inverse mode, wherein an energy store is provided in the base line of the bipolar main switch, which energy store, in conjunction with an auxiliary switch which is concomitantly controlled by the relevant secondary winding for the bipolar main switch, ensures that the main switch is switched off prior to the end of the inverse phase.

The current-measuring device is designed to generate a current on the communications line which is proportional to the conductance of a current-setting resistance. The current-measuring device has a current mirror, which is designed to mirror the generated current on the communications line. The current-measuring device is designed to convert the mirrored current into an internal measurement signal with a reference potential which is different than the communications line. At least one light source module is connectable to the output, wherein the at least one light source module has the current-setting resistance, which is connectable to the communications line.

A circuit arrangement for operation of lamps, including a half-bridge arrangement which has an upper and a lower electronic switch (Q, Q), which are connected in series, each having a control connection and forming a neutral point (N) at their connection point. The circuit arrangement further includes: a load circuit, in which a load circuit current (IL) flows, is connected to the neutral point (N); a feedback device; a stop device; a timer coupled to the input of the stop device; and a trigger device.
