A medical system is disclosed, which can be useable in particular for monitoring and/or controlling at least one bodily function of a user. The medical system comprises a control device and at least one medical user element embodied separately from the control device. The medical user element and the control device are designed to exchange data wirelessly. The medical system is designed to enable an automatic assignment step, wherein an exchange of personal data between the medical user element and the control device is enabled by the automatic assignment step. The medical system is furthermore designed to automatically initiate the automatic assignment step by means of an assignment coupling between the medical user element and the control device. The medical system is furthermore designed to enable a separation of the assignment coupling for medical operation of the medical system after the assignment step.

A method for setting up a medical network for carrying out at least one medical function is disclosed. The medical network comprises network nodes and the network nodes are set up for communicating with one another by an initialization step, wherein the network nodes exchange initialization information that includes information characterizing the network nodes and a self-organization step where the network nodes define their role distribution. A work step where the network carries out the medical function and the two network nodes interact in the role of distribution defined in the self-organization step.

A base station carries the implantable sensor along with a signal processor, memory, and a transmitter. A display device is also disclosed that can receive the compressed measurement data from the base station for further processing and display.

The control part includes at least one coupling, which has at least one sensor coupling for connection to at least one transcutaneous sensor. The protective container has at least one container housing. The control part can be held in the container housing. The container housing is adapted to shield the control part from environmental influences. The container housing also has at least one connector which can be connected to the coupling and seals the latter in a media-tight fashion.

The present invention concerns a tape magazine especially for a hand-held device for analyzing a body fluid with a test tape that can be unwound from a storage unit and wound onto a waste unit where the waste unit can be driven in order to wind forward the test tape. Human or animal body fluids can be measured in-vivo to determine analyte concentrations, such as glucose. The measurement system comprises an exchangeable sensor for in-vivo placement, a data carrier with calibration data for the sensor, a housing having a first chamber for receiving a sterile sensor and a second chamber for receiving a data carrier, and a base station that couples to the housing for transmitting measurement signals to an evaluation unit. Replacement sterile sensors can be packaged in a sterile package and the data carrier associated with the replacement sensor can be packaged in a non-sterile package.

A system for transmission of medical data comprises a first device which is designed to be worn on the body of a patient and which generates medically relevant data when in operation, said data being transmitted wirelessly to a second device. The first device comprises a communication unit for the wireless communication with the second device, a circuit which generates medically relevant data when in operation and a handover memory for the intermediate storage of data that are to be transferred from the circuit to the communication unit or from the communication unit to the circuit. The data generating circuit is connected to the handover memory via a first data line and the communication unit is connected to the handover memory via a second data line. The first device comprises a change-over switch closing the first data line and interrupting the second data line in a first switched state and interrupting the first data line and closing the second data line in a second switched state, said change-over switch changing between the first and second switched state without communication with the data generating circuit.
