The present disclosure provides a gas turbine combustor including a combustion structure () having a combustor liner () and a flow sleeve (). The combustor liner () includes inner and outer surfaces () and defines a combustion zone (). The gas turbine combustor further includes a plurality of hollow airfoil-shaped structures () affixed to the combustor liner () and extending radially outwardly into an airflow space () defined radially between the flow sleeve () and the combustor liner (). Each hollow structure () includes at least one metering tube () providing acoustic communication between the combustion zone () and the hollow structure (). The metering tubes () are detachably coupled to the combustor liner () for permitting interchanging of the metering tube () with at least one additional metering tube having at least one different dimension to effect a change in an acoustic characteristic of the hollow structure ().

A pilot swirl element is arranged between fuel nozzle and outer casing, including a plurality of main burners which are arranged around the pilot fuel nozzle, and including a pilot cone having an inner side and an outer side. A burner of a gas turbine including a reaction chamber and a plurality of jet nozzles opening into the reaction chamber is provided. Fluid is injected through an outlet into the reaction chamber by the jet nozzles using of a fluid stream wherein the fluid is burned into hot gas in the reaction chamber. An annular gap is disposed about the fluid stream for at least one jet nozzle so that a part of the hot gas is drawn out of the reaction chamber and flows opposite the fluid flow direction into the annular gap and is mixed with the fluid stream within the jet nozzle. The ring gap is formed by means of an insert tube, and wherein the insert rube includes a thickening at the upstream end. A method for stabilizing the flame of such a burner of a gas turbine is also provided.

A turbine burner is provided. The turbine burner has a secondary feed unit and a primary feed unit. The primary feed unit has a primary mixing tube and a fuel nozzle that are arranged concentrically around the secondary feed unit. The primary mixing tube and the fuel nozzle have a fluid flow connection. The fuel nozzle has an annular wall that is radially spaced in the axial direction from the secondary feed unit such that a gap height is fainted by the annular wall and the secondary feed unit. The annular wall has an inside wall directed toward the secondary feed unit and having blades with a leading edge on the upstream side. The fuel nozzle has an inlet and the blades have an axial distance from the inlet. The ratio of the distance to the gap height is greater than 1 and less than the gap height.

The invention relates to a method for burning a fluid fuel, in which fuel is reacted in a catalytic reaction, whereupon catalytically pre-reacted fuel continues to be burned in a secondary reaction. A swirling component is impressed onto the pre-reacted fuel, allowing the secondary reaction to be ignited in a spatially controlled manner, resulting in complete burnout. The invention further relates to a burner for burning a fluid fuel, in which the fuel outlet of a catalytic burner is disposed upstream of the fuel outlet of a primary burner in the direction of flow of the fuel within a flow channel such that the fuel is catalytically reacted. The catalytic burner is provided with a number of catalytically effective elements which are arranged such that a vortex is created in the flow channel. The invention can be applied particularly to combustion chambers of gas turbines.

Method for the combustion of a fluid fuel, and burner, especially of a gas turbine, for carrying out said method

Disclosed is a method for operating a burner for fluid fuels. According to said method, the fluid fuel is mixed with an oxidizer before the fluid fuel is burned. The inventive method is characterized in that a liquid fuel that is used as a fluid fuel is mixed with a gaseous or vaporous carrier flow before being mixed with the oxidizer while the carrier flow containing the liquid fuel is mixed with the oxidizer in order to mix the liquid fuel with the oxidizer.

A process is disclosed for monitoring the formation of deposits of solid particles in a fuel line having a valve. A measure for the deposits of solid particles in the fuel line is determined by determining the degree of opening of the valve passage and the quantity of fuel flowing through the valve, and by comparing them with a previously determined control value which characterizes the deposit-free line. Also disclosed is a device for monitoring the formation of deposits of solid particles in a fuel line having a valve, the device having a measurement system for determining the current fuel flow and a measurement system for determining the current valve position, as well as an evaluation system connected to the measurement systems. Also disclosed is a combustion chamber comprising a device and operated by a process according to the invention, and a gas turbine with said combustion chamber.

An optical waveguide with a tubular or hose-like housing is provided, which is used in a high-temperature environment, such as, for example, in a burner. The housing has an input opening, an output opening and a center line extending from the input opening to the output opening. In the interior of the housing, transparent spheres are lined up along with center line. The light is guided on account of the refraction of a light beam upon entering and exiting from the transparent spheres.

There is described a method for operation of a burner, whereby a fuel is supplied to the burner, sprayed into the combustion air, mixed with the combustion air to give a fuel/air mixture and burnt in a combustion chamber. With regard to a combustion particularly low in pollutants and, in order to reduce the nitrogen oxide emissions with relation to achieving a given nitrogen oxide emission level, a change in parameters characterizing the fuel is determined. Such a parameter may, for example, be the Wobbe index. There is further described a device for carrying out said method, comprising a fuel treatment device, with an analytical device for the analysis of the current fuel composition and a monitoring and control system.

Method of operating a burner, including a combustion chamber with a low nitrous oxide emission

Burners in prior art exhibit combustion instabilities in certain ranges. The operating range of burners is restricted by said instabilities. In an inventive burner, the combustible has a concentration distribution, whereby the concentration of the combustible reduces in a radial direction from the interior to the exterior.
