A method, device and system for automatically deriving stationing zones for an electronic measuring or marking device in a worksite environment. The method includes querying a database (DB) for a construction plan information for the worksite environment and acquiring a worksite-task-information of a worksite-task to be executed. The worksite-task-information includes spatial points in the construction plan which have to be measured and/or marked to accomplish the worksite-task. It also comprises an acquiring of at least coarse 3D-data of the actual real world worksite environment, and a merging of the at least coarse 3D-data and the construction plan information to form an actual state model of the worksite environment. An automatic calculating of at least one stationing zone within the actual state model is established, the stationing zone including at least one stationing location from which the measuring or marking of the spatial points are accessible by the device without obstructions.

Construction task referencing

The invention pertains to a target point detection method for an automatic search of at least one target point in a surveying environment in advance of a precise measurement of the at least one target point with a surveying device. In some embodiments, the surveying environment may include a plurality of points of non-interest, where a point of non-interest is a reflective object or surface, or a target comprising at least one retroreflector being positioned at each target point. In some embodiments, a method may include emitting electromagnetic radiation to illuminate retroreflectors emitted in the form of a vertical fan which is movable through a horizontal angular range; receiving signals reflected from retroreflectors within a fan-shaped detection area, determining at least a horizontal angle to the retroreflectors, assigning a time mark and/or a distance to each of the signals, and storing the detected signal in a two-dimensional data structure.

Target point detection method

Method for determining, with geodesic precision, the position of a target point on a target object by using a geodesic measuring device, said method comprising a sighting device which comprises at least one objective unit that defines an optical line of sight, an electronic distance measuring unit, and a thermal imaging camera for recording a thermal image in the direction of the optical line of sight. An angle measuring function is provided for recording the line of sight alignment, and a control unit is provided for controlling the angle measuring function, the thermal imaging camera. In a thermal imaging mode when a measurement procedure is triggered, position data of the sighted target point which are determined in said measurement procedure are linked to temperature information which is read out from the thermal image for the target point at which the line of sight is aimed.
