A fluid operated contractile drive which has a contractile hose () extending between two head pieces (and), and attached to at least one head piece (and) by having its respective end section () clamped in an annular clamping gap () defined between clamping surfaces (and), extending in an at least partially inclined manner in relation to the longitudinal axis () of the contractile hose () of a first clamping unit () having a force output means () serving for external force output and a second clamping unit () able to be shifted axially in relation to the first clamping unit. In addition to the contractile hose () between the two clamping unit (and) there are loading means (), effective between same, such loading means () acting on the clamping unit (and) to produce a reduction of the width of the clamping gap ().

Fluid operated contractile drive

A fluid power contractile drive comprising a contractile hose (), which on fluid actuation of an actuation space () delimited by it undergoes longitudinal contraction and which at its two terminal regions (and) is adapted to be, or is, provided with a force output means () rendering possible output of the drive force produced. At one terminal region (and) at least the contractile hose () possesses a flat configuration and is bent over, the hose sections (and) of the hose sections being placed adjacent to each other owing to such bending over being connected firmly with each other.

Fluid-actuated contraction drive and associated contraction tube

A gas operated contraction drive with a contractible hose, which undergoes longitudinal contraction when a working space defined by it is subjected to a pressurizing drive gas. The contractible hose is fitted with at least one pyrotechnic gas generator.

Gas operated contraction drive

A fluid power operable actuating device, which possesses a flexible contractible tube extending between two spaced head pieces, such flexible contractible tube being caused to expand radially when its inner space is subjected to fluid pressure and transmitting simultaneously axial forces, due to contraction, to the head pieces. The flexible contractible tube comprises an elastically deforming flexible tube body which has a special geometrical shape having a cross sectional outline on the inner periphery and/or the outer periphery of the flexible tube body which is non-circular and/or is in the form of several portions of the body of the flexible tube with properties of the material of the flexible tube body which are different from one another.

Actuating means

A fluid power rotary drive having two head pieces, between which a hose body and a force transmitting structure extend. The head pieces bear against each other via supporting means permitting relative rotatability thereof in Abstract of the Disclosure such a manner that they are prevented from performing an axial relative movement involving mutual motion toward or away from the one another. When the interior space of the hose body is put under pressure a relative rotary movement between the two head pieces is caused.

Fluid operated rotary drive

It is a question of an actuating means adapted to be activated by fluid power, which comprises a hose body ( ) extending between two spaced head pieces ( and ) and whose interior space is able to be subjected to a fluid medium. A strand structure ( ) fixed to both head pieces ( and ) and extending coaxially in relation to the hose body has two strand groups ( and ) in a crossover configuration with bendingly flexible strands ( ) extending adjacent to one another with the same longitudinal alignment within a strand group. An intermediately placed yielding material ( ) between the strand groups ( and ) serves to maintain the strand groups constantly at a distance apart.
