A device () for inductive heating of a workpiece () in a rolling mill, the device () including: a converter () for creating an alternating voltage, a capacitor bank () electrically connected to the converter (), and having a plurality of capacitors () connected in parallel, a working field (), in which an upper coil () and a lower coil () are arranged. The workpiece () is able to be passed between the coils () and is thereby inductively heated by cross-field heating. A housing () arranged next to, below or above the working field (). The converter () and capacitor bank () are arranged in the housing (). The coils () are each electrically connected to the capacitor bank () by a flexible cable (). The cable () is a coaxial cable (), with one phase of the alternating voltage applied to an inner conductor () and the other phase of the alternating voltage applied to an outer conductor () of the coaxial cable (). The cables () are cooled by a fluid, such as air or water ().

Device for the inductive heating of a workpiece in a rolling mill

A heating device and a method for the inductive heating of a flat steel strip in a hot rolling mill. The heating device is between two rolling trains of the hot rolling mill and the flat steel strip runs at a speed through the heating device in a transporting direction. The heating device includes: transverse-field modules arranged one after the other along the transporting direction of the flat steel strip; longitudinal-field modules arranged one after the other along the transporting direction of the flat steel strip and arranged before or after the transverse-field modules along the transporting direction; a first power supply supplying at least one transverse-field module with a first alternating voltage; and a second power supply supplying at least one longitudinal-field module with a second alternating voltage. The power supplies have a converter and an electrically connected capacitor bank with multiple capacitors connected in parallel.

Heating device for the inductive heating of a flat steel strip in a hot rolling mill

A framework cooler () for cooling a steel strip (), installed in a roller framework (), in place of the work rolls () and their associated installation pieces (and). The framework cooler () is sized to be installed into the roller framework () through the operator-side roller stands () of the roller framework (). The cooler () includes a lower () and an upper water tank (), each having a connection () for a coolant, and includes a plurality of cooling nozzles (), or cooling tubes () arranged in the depth direction (T) of the framework cooler () or at least one cooling slot () extending in the depth direction (T). In a normal operation of a roll stand (e.g.) of a roll train, working rolls () of the roll stand () are adjusted to a roll gap (s) by adjusting a control element position (p) of a control element () of the roll stand (), such that the working rolls () roll the metal band (). To determine the control element position (p) to be adjusted, a calibration value (sC) of the respective roll stand (), further status parameters (P) of the roll stand () and a target roll gap (s*) are specified to a model () of the roll stand (). Determining the ferrite phase fraction after heating or cooling of a steel strip

During stabilization of a metal band () on a roller path (), the band () is to be only minimally cooled via the stabilisation. A device for that includes multiple protective runners (), each oriented in the conveyor direction (R), for guiding the band (), wherein the protective runners () are arranged above the roller path () and the protective runners () are at a distance from one another in a width direction (B) of the band (). Method and device for stabilizing a movement of a rolled metal band on a roller table

In a rolling mill, an open-loop and/or closed-loop control device and a method for adjusting a discharge thickness of rolling stock which passes through a multi-stand mill train, wherein a first section of the rolling stock is rolled to a first discharge thickness, a second section of the rolling stock is rolled to a second discharge thickness which is different from the first discharge thickness. Because a transition from the first discharge thickness to the second discharge thickness takes place at a feed rate of the rolling stock into the mill train which is adjusted as a function of a discharge rate of the rolling stock of a unit which is arranged upstream of the mill train in the direction of mass flow, a method can be made available which runs essentially without reactions for units which are arranged upstream of the mill train in the direction of mass flow.

Method for adjusting a discharge thickness of rolling stock that passes through a multi-stand mill train, control and/or regulation device and rolling mill
