The invention relates to a method for producing a deformation bullet, consisting of a projectile core made from lead in a tombac jacket. So that the performance of the bullet, such as the accuracy, deformation and energy transfer in the target medium can be adjusted and a homogeneous core of the bullet is created, the structure of which has a predefined breaking point on the center axis of the bullet, the following method steps are suggested: a. manufacture of a cup-shaped tombac jacket, introduction of lead into the tombac jacket and soldering of the lead with the tombac jacket in order to produce a blank, b. introduction of a pre-existing defect into the lead of the blank by pressing a die displaceable on the center axis of the blank into the lead and then removing the die, c. final pressing of the blank into the final shape of the deformation bullet with outer longitudinal grooves on the ogive and with a rear inner cone, wherein a pressing force larger than 7000 N is used during the final pressing process.

Bonded deformation bullet

Disclosed is a bullet and practice cartridge for use on a shooting range having a cylindrical rear part and an ogive region at the nose end. The ogive region has a rear end and a bullet tip. In order that the bullet behaves like a conventional full metal jacket round nose bullet in a soft target, and moreover has a low energy output in the soft target, that the bullet does not deform or splinter in soft materials, and that the bullet does not puncture protective materials of bullet catchers, the bullet is constructed in one piece, the ogive region is closed all round a cavity and the wall thickness of the ogive region decreases constantly from the rear end to the tip.

Bullet and practice cartridge for use on a shooting range

Especially in hunting, the choice of bullets has to be such that it is in keeping with the wild animals to be hunted. According to the desired effect on the target, deformation bullets or partial fragmentation bullets are used. Since both types of bullets are different, the position of the point of impact from the same weapon is different. According to the type of bullet used, the weapon must be oriented differently in relation to the target. This can be obstructive and if insufficient attention is paid, can result in misses. According to the invention, a shell-less cored steel bullet is used as a deformation bullet () or partial fragmentation bullet (), having an identical caliber and a closed cavity () in the tip () of said bullet In order to achieve the same point of impact of said bullets () on the target, while maintaining the effect of the respectively selected bullet during the same handling of the weapon, during the same setting of the target in an identical position, the external volume, centre of gravity, mass and base copper-tin alloy are identical and the cavity (E) in the tip () of the bullet, consisting of a combination of cylindrical and conical sections (), in addition to the composition of the bullet material, are adapted to the effect of said bullet.

Partial fragmentation and deformation bullets having an identical point of impact

Currently, 9 mm&#xd7;19 mm caliber cartridges in the form of full-jacketed round-head bullets are used for small arms, especially for arms used by police. For safety reasons, efforts are being made to replace these bullets with a type of bullet that is prevented from passing straight through the target medium. Known deformable bullets from the prior art vary considerably in terms of the energy that they release in the target medium of density (), especially in the human body. The invention therefore provides that the bullet () consists of a jacketless bullet body (), that a cavity () extends centrally in relation to the longitudinal axis () of the bullet () in the tapered front part () of the bullet body (), said cavity consisting of a cylindrical part () and at least one conical part () adjoining said cylindrical part; that a pusher () which forces the projectile open forms the bullet tip and that said pusher consists of a head () which seals the opening () of the cavity () and a shaft () which extends into the cavity ().
