A ventilation arrangement for the head space of the fuel tank of a vehicle consists of a valve assembly received in a housing (), which assembly is arranged to produce a maximum pressure, which is not to be exceeded, a minimum pressure below which the pressure must not fall, and a random pressure, for example, for the tank filling process, within the head space. For this purpose a valve which is biased by a spring () in the direction towards an atmospheric connector () and is characterised by a sealing plate (), and a valve biased by a spring () in the direction towards a connector () intended for connection to the head space, and a valve characterised by a sealing head () are provided, the latter of which is simultaneously connected to an electromagnetic drive in order to produce the random pressure. As a result of the constructional combination of all three valve functions in the housing (), the mutually coaxial guidance of the sealing head () and of the sealing plate (), a valve assembly is provided which takes up a small construction volume and is suitable in particular for use under the spatially limited installation conditions of a hybrid vehicle.

Ventilation arrangement for a fuel tank

A valve () which is intended for insertion into the line connecting a fuel pump to a system of injection valves and which is designed as a pressure-maintaining valve is characterized by a pipe body () intended to have a flow passing through it, into which a sleeve () is inserted which forms a damping cylinder () in a middle region, inside which damping cylinder one end of a blocking body () is received so as to be able to slide in the direction of the axis () of the pipe body (). The opposite end of the blocking body () is characterized by a sealing body () which is formed from an elastomeric material and which cooperates with a valve seat () which is allocated a through bore () in a transverse wall () of the pipe body (). The blocking body () lies against this valve seat under resilient pretensioning and the movement of the blocking body is damped or is accompanied by the lowest possible noise development by reason of the cooperation with the damping cylinder. The valve () is particularly suited to the development of a reliable sealing function in the region of the valve seat () and therefore to the fulfillment of a pressure-maintaining function in the said line of a fuel supply system.
