A fuel pump, including a driven impeller, which rotates in a pump housing and on the two sides comprises guide blades that each delimit a ring of blade chambers, and further including partial ring-shaped channels, which are arranged on both sides in the region of the guide blades in the pump housing and which form delivery chambers with the blade chambers for delivering fuel, wherein an inlet channel leads into the one delivery chamber and the other delivery chamber leads into an outlet channel, and mutually opposing blade chambers are connected to each other. The cross-sectional surface of the partial ring-shaped channel arranged on the inlet side decreases toward the end of the partial ring-shaped channel to zero. The region in which the cross-sectional surface decreases extends over an angular region of more than 45&#xb0;.

Fuel pump

A fuel pump unit comprising a housing part () arranged between an electric motor () and a fuel pump (). The housing part is provided with expansion joints for compensating thermal expansions or swelling of the material of the housing part (). The gap between the impeller () and the housing parts () of the fuel pump () can be kept constant by virture of the expansion joints, whereby the fuel pump () is essentially prevented from jamming especially when it runs dry.

Fuel feed unit

The invention relates to a supply pump embodied as a side channel pump, whereby several sections (-) forming the cross-section of a supply chamber () each comprise radii. The origins of the external radii are arranged on the front face of a pump housing facing the one rotor. The sections (-) comprise common tangents in the adjacent regions thereof. A particularly high efficiency for the supply pump can thus be guaranteed.

Supply pump

In a fuel pump () designed as a side channel pump, in each case two conveying chambers (-) one surrounding the other concentrically are arranged on two impellers (). The conveying chambers () of one impeller () are connected to an inlet duct (), while the conveying chambers () of the other impeller () are connected to an outlet duct (). A connection () of the conveying chambers (-) is arranged in a partition () keeping the impellers () at a distance from one another. As a result, the fuel pump () has an especially high volume flow, along with a very high conveying pressure.

Fuel pump for a fuel tank

An impeller for a delivery pump in which profiled section () comprising webs () is located on the outer periphery of an impeller () for a feed pump () that is configured as a side channel pump. The webs () are arranged at an ascending incline, viewed in the rotational direction of the impeller () from the designated pressure side to the designated intake side. This permits flow losses between the radial external region of the impeller () and the housing parts () of the feed pump () to be maintained at a particularly low level.
